Hi Friends,
I normally post about vintage thrifting and decorating my country/cottage home with vintage treasures.
BUT today!, I'm canning!
If you have notice on my garden update post the the season is getting close to harvest time. It seems like I have been waiting for ever for these tomatoes to turn color.
I'm adding a few bag of cherry tomatoes I froze from last October harvest, (do to the abundance of all the volunteer cherry tomatoes plants.)
First step I take is get the water boiling in the covered pot to blanch the tomatoes to make it easier to peel.
Second, The little pan is sterilizing the lids for the jars,
(I have already washed the jars in super hot water in the sink and their drying.)
Thirdly, I'm getting out the big canning pot and bringing the water temperature up
And of course the tea kettle is heating water to keep the water level in canner while processing the jars of tomatoes.
*And Wha-la*
I also made pints of salsa, just added some seasonings, chopped onion, can green chili to the diced tomatoes and processed the recommended time. FYI, I follow the Ball Mason Jars canning book directions for my altitude.
Leave me a comment if you do some preserving your harvest from your garden or from the "Farmers Market" in your area.
God has really blessed my garden harvest this year.
Thank you for stopping by the blog, until the next post......
May God bless you and your family,
