Fall clean-up

with this new job of mine I never really know what day of the week I get a day off my supervisor says she has a system. huh?

well I had today off and guess how I spent it going to the dump.  It’s all good my truck has been loaded since Monday. I had planned on going Monday but I woke up to sounds of pitter patter out side my window. Out in the small town your taking your sanity to a new level trying to get around on muddy slipper roads at the dump.

So I put this job off until today.

Canning anyone?

Quite a few years ago I was all into what I considered simple/basic living. I had a garden that I canned out of, I recycled everything, I even made my own occasional cards from recycles.

As my girls got older and I started working out of my house, it was a little harder for me to stay on track.

This year as my girls are moving on with their lives, I have notice more time on my hands, so I’m trying to get back to doing some of the things I enjoy.

Halloween project

I was surfing my favorite blogs last week and found a couple of really cool wreath I thought I’d tried to make before Halloween.
As you know I’m a little frugal. I look through my craft stuff and wasn’t able to find a wreath I could reuse.
DSCI2325
So I went to the Budget Center (our Good Will) and purchased two different grapevine wreaths for $5
DSCI2328
I had some gogglely eyes and 2” styro-foam balls in my Halloween craft box and cut them in half and glued to the wreath painted the styro-foam ball base with Americana glow in the dark acrylic paint and around the eyes with Delta lime sorbet acrylic paint.
DSCI2341
I found some white and glow in the dark green webbing and some spider rings, also from my Halloween craft box and a beany bag spider to tie in the middle .
I surprised my self I think it turned out great!

Front Porch decorated for October

Hi friends,

This year I got really ambitious and decorated my front porch for the month of October

 - I used the pumpkins the grand kids carved the with the help of auntie.

 - A purple and black striped fuzzy spider one of my girls had, I added a black web with wrapped up bugs.

 - A skeleton made from gallon milk jugs I made quite a few years ago.

 - A black bat hanging from the portico above the door.

For a last minute idea, I think it turned out okay.

Thank you for stopping by.

Happy Halloween,

Outside Halloween Decor

This skeleton is a milk jug project I made several years back and it still is a nice addition to my Halloween decor.  The black cat in the window is a vintage die cut I found at a Good Will store many years ago.  In the right corner is a vinyl blow-up bat I believe I bought at Target some years ago.

Halloween project I made this month using a straw wreath form styroform balls cut in half, google eyes ring spiders and webbing cloth.

May God Bless you and your family, Vicki a Colorado Junkett.
