Primitive Farmhouse DIY Felt Crows

Hi Friends,

Today, I'm going to try my hand at constructing a felt crow to add to my late summer décor.

I of course went to Pinterest and found a couple of free patterns and then just kind of made my own.

This is how my crow turned out with this pattern from Crow/Raven Pattern @ Silver Ravenwolf 2013. Minus the wings, because I'm thinking real feather or felt?  not sure yet.

Another felt raven pattern I found was by my3monster.com that had great instructions

This is how they turned out

I used some wire I had  to make feet for both the crows.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I gave you some inspiration to give a new project a try.

So until next time....

Thrifting Out of Town - My Hunt for Vintage Bottles

Hi Friends,

This month I was able to get out of town to visit grand kids and had some time to do some thrifting, at three thrift collectible stores.

I was so excited to find bottles, and more bottles of all sizes. I just could not believe the great deals I found!

The aqua ball jar was $4.60 not bad price I didn't think. The milk bottle was $5.50 which I thought was high because there wasn't a label.

A grab bag for $2.50 of miscellaneous trinkets was a good deal I think, besides I can always use extra Monopoly pieces.

The amber bottles were $1.00 and the larger bottle was $3.00 not a bad price either. I was surprised to find this Phillies cigar box in such good condition to add to my other cigar boxes.  Lately my mission when thrifting is hunting for perfume bottles and on this treasure hunt I found quite a few little bottles.

I plan on making a arrangement of cute perfume bottles on my 50's vintage vanity in the guest room.

I was so excited to find some of the tiny bottles that were in a grab bag for $2.50

Thank you for checking in today and seeing the wonderful treasure I found.

A Few Rustic Late Summer Touches to My Front Porch

 Hi Friends,

Today I'm working on sprucing up my front porch for late summer, by bringing in the sunflowers a little green foliage to the vintage milk cans.

I love adding black and white buffalo checked ribbon here and there to added the farm house feel

I have added a few burlap ribbon to add a rustic touch to the front porch.

I added a new welcome sign to my summer front porch this year from some old shelving I had painted red.  Using some Dollar Tree supplies, this is how my welcome sign turned out.

Just a few little touches to my front porch, and my front porch is ready for late summer.

I like how it all turned out, thank you so much for stopping by to see what I have been up too....until next time.

Thrifting for Vintage Home Décor

Hi Friends,

I had a day off so I thought I'd go thrifting! to my local thrift store.

I found a few items that I think  will blend into my vintage farmhouse décor.

The red rimmed tray and the rocking horse I'll be saving for my Christmas décor. I'm thinking adding red/black check fabric for a Christmas vignette.

This wonderful platter I'm going to put in my kitchen

I looked up the markings on the bottom and found out this platter is Sienna Ware the Crescent China Co with the  'pink flower 1920 pattern'  I just thought it was pretty and I paid $2.00.

I started this vignette with a few of my salt and pepper shakers and a vintage creamer from the 1950's the creamer I have had for .... I don't remember how long.

I purchased another vintage dish this one is quite a bit smaller and oval shape. According to the marks on the bottom of the plate, it is from Knowles, Taylor & Knowles china in the 20's .  This little dish will also find a place in my kitchen.

I played around with another little creamer I thrifted this summer and added another set of salt and pepper.   I like how the pink in the creamer ties in better with the pink flower pattern of the platter.

Thank you for staying and see what I found and how I place the thrifted items in my home.

Until next time.......
May God Bless You and Your Family.

Decorate with Me - Thrifted Little Red Truck

 Hi Friends,

I'm so glad you stopped by! Today I'm decorating my hutch with a summer vignette using a little red truck I just found out thrifting.
I found the little red truck at my local thrift store it did have a emblem on the side I just gave this little truck a good washing and the emblem came off filled the bed with fir cones and it's ready to go.

*****

For summer months I like to bring in the black & white check home spun and a jean rag garlands to border the top edge of the hutch, this season I also added a leafy vine I purchased from the "Dollar Tree Store".

I gathered a few items from around the house that I have thrifted this summer.  This little arch window mirror I found had a planter on it which I took off sanded it a bit to make it look weathered.

The handled wooden box I thrifted this summer and stuck a few sunflower in as you can see.

Kids alphabet blocks, coca cola tin, the cute little ceramic hen I believe I found thrifting last year.
I like how this little grouping turned out.

Until next time.....
May God Bless You and Your Family.

September DIY Sign for the Front Porch

Hi Friends,

This week I have been changing out, or should I day adding a sign to the front porch area.

I found a dis-guarded piece of scrape wood planks on my wood pile

Did a little sanding to get the bottom white coat to show through.

While at Dollar Tree I found this sunflower applique  and loved the sunflowers.

The welcome applique I though would look nice, but it was kind of small.

So I ended up using some stencil lettering I had in my stash.  Using brown acrylic paint I dabbed the stencils.
I cut out the sunflower and decopodged the flowers on to the board.

This project was fairly easy once I decided what materials I wanted to use.  I think this sign turned out very nice, to put out on my front porch.  Let me know what you think in the comments.
