Little Bird Came Home

I got a surprise phone call today, my Little Bird is coming home!

My oldest daughter tried to stretch her wing. She moved to Texas with her boyfriend and things didn't work out like she thought so. She had a job lined up when she got there, but when she showed up she had to be 21yo, so it didn't work. Her boy friend had said their house would be ready for her, (it was damaged by the huricane) but it wasn't. Everything seemed to be going wrong. Her second baby is due mid October, so she decided to move back home with Mom until the baby is born... I couldn't be more pleased I'm not ready to let her go and I sure do missed the grandson.

Have a great day!

Not such a bargain

Well ...........as you can see I didn't get that plant bargain I thought I did two weeks ago. The marigolds that I bought a couple of weeks ago they bit the dust, the petunia's that I planted in containers are during okay. The few perennial that I bought will come back next year so maybe my bargain wasn't a total loss.
There's always NEXT YEAR!!! With a plan and budget for plantings and more compost to loosen up the soil my flower bed may be beautiful!!! We see, Huh?
But I did get a bargain this week at the Safeway had country pork rib $1.99 # so I dusted off the crock Pot and for dinner we'll be serving BBQ Pork sandwiches, corn on cob, brown rice and water melon. yum yum

Have a wonderful Day!

Shelves, Shelves, Shelves!

I was visiting my Sister in May, she live in Utah, and was talking about this corner shelf I wanting to put up in my 16 yr old daughters' room for her TV.

Well, my brother-in-law said he had a compound miter saw that he wasn't using and if I thought I could handle it I could borrow the saw for while. If anyone has ever use a saw like this?! I was in heaven!!! This saw can do so many things.. I did get my daughters shelf done and decided to work on some shelves for my kitchen bay area.

I think I have mentioned I have been collecting vintage country farm treasures for quite a while now. When I made this last move my collection needed to be downsized just a little. So in order to do this I told myself if I can find a place to put it I can keep it.

On Whatcha Working on Wednesday's Wednesday's, I try to check in with Leslie at http://www.sweet-mycountryhome.blogspot.com/, Rondell at http://www.rondell-tomatoecreekprims.blogspot.com/ and LisaMae at http://www.blacksheepprim.blogspot.com/

These Ladies have wonderful project that really get me inspired! Do stop by their blogs and take a look you will love reading their blogs as much as I do.

So....... back to my story. After I tackled putting up shelves in my living closet last month, as you can see I went a little crazy with finding homes for my collection of old tin cans, rustic wooden boxes, cast iron, signs, salt/pepper shakers, enamel ware, vintage cookie jars. You name it, if it's rustic I bring it home.

I just love my red walls in the kitchen don't you?

As long as my sister lets me have this awesome saw I know I can find another project! I still have a few Treasures that need homes. :)

Until next time have a wonderful Day

I Think I'm Such A Good Bargin Hunter

I was doing my bi-weekly shopping and decided to stopped by our K-Mart Store. I wondered out to the garden area and found they were closing out their annual/perennials plants.

I spent @25.00 and home with 2 flats of annuals and 3-3gal perennials
Not sure if it was a bargain or not, most of the annuals were on their last leg like these Marigolds and look at these Petunias their pretty leggy.
This GREAT DEAL will only be great if the plants don't die. I'm hoping I can retrieve at least half of the annuals that are in flats.

I guess time will tell.

Thanks for stopping by!

The first Camping Trip of the Summer

I usually have most of the gear like tent, sleeping bag, lantern, water jugs, grill ax, shovel etc......and a big Rubbermaid tub with paper plate plastic forks and spoons, toilet paper you know all the basic things grouped together to go camping in a are in my garage.

The day finally came there were no prior engagement, the weather was going to be decent. So the kids stood there asking what to pack. I was dumbed founded. so I told them where in the garage the camping stuff was and let's pack it up and head it out!

See My Idea now, that my kids are older. If they want to go camping they need to load it up and unpacked when we get there.

My only function is to drive and enjoy!

I've been doing this a long time and I think it is about time they learn that camping isn't about fun and games there's a little bit of prep and work to make sure that the camping trip is fun!

I decided that we were going to Brown's Park about 80 miles NW of Craig. About 2 hours later due to very winding narrow road we finally got to our destination to find we were the only campers there. I wish we have had brought the dogs! I would have felt a little more secure. No cell service down by the River, 5 miles up to the main road, there was a little store, also a Rangers station.

We found a good spot to set up camp and it was up to the kids to unpacked and set up camp.

Here they are setting up the tent. Actually they did a great job of getting all the sleeping bags and pads layed out.
Saturday night got a little colder than what I was expecting because I guess we were near the River the mosquitos were terrible!!
Sunday morning. The girls were not ready to start all the packing up so I continued drinking coffee setting in a camp chair reading a book. Around noon one oclock the girls were ready head home.
It was a great trip! When can we go again?!
Have a great day!
