Working in the Garden - Planting

 Hi Friends,

I have been trying to get out in the garden for a few hours after work this past week, the temperature has been warmer so it's time to get out in the garden areas and get them tilled and ready for planting.

********

I started some of my seeds with the  gallon milk jugs method, April 17th. Seems to work really well for me. I learned about gallon milk jug gardening from  Jen on You-Tube

I'm trying sweet peas in the straw bale I started last summer growing vine green beans.

I also had time today to transplant the green bean I also started back in May in milk jugs, and plant  lettuce, kale, onions, carrots, lettuce
radish seeds in this raised bed.

By 3pm, I was ready for a little rest and it getting warm.  I still wanted to get some weeding done in the flower beds, but that will have to wait until tomorrow morning.
Thank you for stopping by to see what I have been doing. I'm very relieved that I got some of the plants transfer to the garden and some seeds sowed.
Until next time....

Rain? What you taking about?

I have been watering my potted plant every day this summer, you all know how dry it has been.  Our local weather man has been teasing us with the possibility of rain for a couple of weeks now.

Oh yeah the wind comes up and the clouds gather and darken and the they move east which the eastern slope which is good I guess, because they really need the rain, but not the wing, because of all the fires.

Some one was doing the rain dance this weekend we actually got some afternoon rain showers. It’s been raining off an on for two days now which is great, but the fire ban in my area is still in affect.

On the positive side my potted plant are looking fabulace!

Have a Great Day!

I Think I'm Such A Good Bargin Hunter

I was doing my bi-weekly shopping and decided to stopped by our K-Mart Store. I wondered out to the garden area and found they were closing out their annual/perennials plants.

I spent @25.00 and home with 2 flats of annuals and 3-3gal perennials
Not sure if it was a bargain or not, most of the annuals were on their last leg like these Marigolds and look at these Petunias their pretty leggy.
This GREAT DEAL will only be great if the plants don't die. I'm hoping I can retrieve at least half of the annuals that are in flats.

I guess time will tell.

Thanks for stopping by!

Going, Going, Gone

WOW!!! Where did July go??

It's been a busy summer of , a yard work we go, a yard work we go, hi ho the dairy o a yard work we go! and the watering with heat wave I just might think about a watering system for next year. or learn to get up earlier to get all the watering done before 10am around here is when the temp reaches 60*

I did finally get the window boxes put on the front of the house and the little seedlings planted.

It doesn't look bad. But looking at the whole picture I think I might have to rethink the size of the boxes or the size of the plants. What do you think?

I don't Think the planter boxes really do anything for the house.
Maybe if I give the plants a little time, they'll grow into the box.

After all that it's time to be thinking about something for dinner

I think today I'll crank up the grill and grill country Pork Ribs "Yummy" I might even put on a few ears of Olatha, Colorado corn even more yummy.
Thanks for stopping by
