Vintage Thrifting at My Local Thrift Store - Checking on the Vintage Record Player

 Hi Friends,

Today I decided to go by my local "Community Center" to check on the vintage record player, it was still there.

I went ahead and did a little shopping while I was there and found quite a few treasures to add to my collections.

I have been looking for a egg basket for many months today, I spied a deep boiling wire basket with red handles "SCORE!"  I think it will work as a egg basket for spring.

However for the month of August/September I'm using the wire basket as a apple basket on top of the hutch.

The picture isn't clear enough, but look I found two bone/ivory crochet hooks $3.00 each.

I don't know why but I picked up another vintage flash light for $1.75.  This one reminded me of my grandfather, because of the magnet. My grandfather had a flashlight like this in every vehicle and on the refrigerator in the kitchen.

I see slabs of wood sign quite often and it just dawn on me today, I should be picking these up to use as risers  I paid $1.00 each. I place the ink bottles on the small slab for height.

I gathered up these wooden rulers I paid $.25 each thinking they would look great in this cute wooden box.

I believe "Rulers" are going on my things to look for list.

Here's something that I don't normally pick-up. This stacks of vintage saucer/dessert dishes for $0.50 each, large dishes $1.00 each, the sign said for mosaic? Can't beat the price. The plates are marked  Homer Laughlin and Kikusu china patterns.

I picked up this Retro-Looking vase, mainly for the color it had no markings.  Looking it up I found a similar vase with red-ish pink color, but same design with gold swirls as the vase I pick-up, the caption said "Mid-century hand painted pink & gold Bartlett Collins glass vase", isn't it beautiful?

Lastly, I picked up a few small treasure I look for when I'm thrifting which are....

Any kitchen Utensil with Red or Green Handles - Who could pass up a red handle potato masher?  Not me, I picked it up, it didn't have a price sticker I was hoping to get it for a $1.00. I wasn't so lucky, I paid $5.00. It is for charity.

Rolling pins -
I have to confess, I really don't need another rolling pin my box is full but, I picked it up anyway for $4.00.

Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers - Look at the cute red pepper shaker, looked it up too, it dates back to 1940 &1950's Lustro-Ware.
The little clear salt shaker  I couldn't find a marking of any kind, it's still a darling little salt shaker.

Vintage bottle openers - Pabst Blue Ribbon metal bottle opener, it will be place with my small collection of bottle openers.

Vintage cookie cutters - HRM red plastic cookie cutter to add to my cookie cutter collection.

Wooden embroidery hoops - I picked up a few more embroidery hoops for $.50 each, I'm collecting hoops for a future craft using some of the thrifted hankies.

The large hoop has a red apple embroidery on the red check fabric I paid $1.00, very darling but, I wasn't real happy with the framed embroidered apple with the ruffle edge so, I took it off and added it to my Late-Summer Sunflower display on the top of my hutch

Now that I have a small collection of vintage dolls, I thought I'd pick up these lovely satin dresses $1.00 each.

Finally, I saw these paper lunch bags you can never go wrong buying extra lunch bags for a $1.00. I put them in the pantry for later use.

After I had checked out, I got up enough nerve to ask if the store would come down on the price and of this wonderful vintage record player piece. I was asked, what was my offer? I said $25.00, and they took the offer, YIKES! I was also thrilled.

Since I was feeling confident I asked the price on this China Hutch top? their reply was, how about $35.00? WHAT!
I was in a state of shock.  I know this hutch needs a base and a little TLC, but WOW!

What a great day to go thrifting I felt I found some great treasure to day and at a great price. What do you think?

Thank you for checking in to see what I have been up to, Please check in to see what I will be doing with the vintage record player.

Until next post, May God Bless You and Your Family, I'm Vicki a Colorado Junkett.
