A Rustic Vintage Heart Shape Keepsake Box

 Hi Friends,

I'm starting another project for my February home décor.

I'm adding rustic vintage farmhouse touches to this cute heart shape box that I paid $0.50 from my local thrift store haul last month.  And needed a make over.

My inspiration came from Wendy at White Sparrow Living  she did a remake of a heart shape box similar to this cute box using fabric to cover the box.

So I have this red stripe fabric, I purchased at a local quilt shop last year and thought this might go with my décor for February.

I traced the lid onto the fabric to cover the lid

Then I cut a stripe of fabric to go around bottom side of box and soaked it in coffee ground tea over night.

Liking how the coffee stain looked on the bottom stripe of the box

As an after thought, I also brushed the top of the box with some of the coffee liquid with a small paint.

Added some lace ribbon from Dollar Tree around the edge of the lid.

For some embellishments, I made a few book page roses and added a little button to the center of the rose.

I felt I needed to add a little more so I cut heart shaped from burlap and a book page added some raffia and twine.

Thank you for stopping by to see another item from my local thrift store that I have remade to fit my vintage farmhouse style.

Until the next project...

God Bless you and your Family,

I'm Vicki a Colorado Junkett
