Rustic Farmhouse Valentine Wreath for the Front Door

Took a Dollar Tree tinsel, glittery wreath wrapped it with a roll of burlap ribbon also from Dollar Tree.

For the bows, I used 2" red burlap ribbon and 1.5" wired brown burlap ribbon from dollar tree.  I believe the 1.5" red & tan check and  7/8" black & white checked ribbon came from Craft Outlet. I cut 6" lengths of all the ribbon.

Then I layered red burlap add from my stash raffia and a couple of single strand of pip berries

wired burlap ribbon, red and tan ribbon and last the black and white ribbon
used some twine to tie up and attached to this finished bow to the wreath.

I always try and keep some light weight card stock/board that I get from cereal boxes for templates.

So I used the cereal box cardboard and cut out three hearts large medium, small for this fabric heart accent for the wreath. I used the black striped flat fold fabric that comes in this bundle from Wal-Mart, also red burlap ribbon and a aged book page.

I'm cutting out two heart from the fabric because, I'm making a little heart pillow. The first layer of the hear pillow is the black stripped fabric,

then the red burlap heart is a little smaller,

The third and last heart is cut from aged book paper.

Glue the three layer, I used Aleene's Tacky Glue and let it all dry completely.

I said I was making pillow hearts, so I added a cotton ball for batting.

With embroidery thread I used a blanket stitch around the edge to close up the heart pillow.

A finished little heart pillow.

I like how this project turned out.
Thank you for stopping by.......until the next project.

God Bless You, Vicki

February Vintage Farmhouse Décor Project

Hi Friends,

I'm at it again with another project.
Thrifted Wooden Heart Transformed to fit into my February Vintage Farmhouse Décor

I haul this wooden heart earlier this month and am just now getting to this project.
I'm going to white chalk paint it

Then using some yardage of red and white striped fabric I'll cover the wood heart.
I traced the heart shape on to the striped fabric

using Aleene's Tacky Glue to attach the fabric cutout onto the wooden shape.

I've had this wooden love piece for sometime, I'm pretty sure it came from Dollar Tree.  I just painted it with the Waverly White Chalk paint distressed it with a black sharpie

Here I added some fabric hearts and a button to the top and at the bottom of the heart.

Using some fine sand paper I sanded down the excess fabric off the edge when it had dried.

This was a fairly simple projects, allowing the fabric to dry took over night, but all in all this project was easy and quick.

Thank you for stopping by My Little Colorado Cottage and checking out another of my February projects.

God Bless you, Vicki a Colorado Junkett
