Thrifting at Local Vintage Thrift Store

 Hi Friends,

One of my favorite store was open on Sunday, so I went to see what I could find for under $10.00.
Last time I stopped by the prices has seemed to double.
I did find a few things.

The flower pot this summer have been a couple of dollars witch is a good price I think for vintage flower pots. I paid $3.00 each this trip.

The little ruler was marked a $ 1.00. I added it to the apple box on the corner shelf in the office nook.

I placed a green apple on top of the rusty bucket to accent the green hue on the bucket, paid $1.00.

I've been kind of collecting small copper lids, lol,  trying to find one that fits the copper tea pot on the kitchen shelf, I thrifted sometime back. I paid $2.00 and now have 4 copper lids.

I used to collect clear press glass dishes about twenty years ago and have a small  collection that I used at Thanksgiving time like covered butter dish, divided relish plate etc. that is  boxed up.

But, this little dish is to cute! for $3.00

I want to thank you for checking, I hope you found some inspiration from the the things I find and how I incorporate the treasure into my home collections.

Until my next post........

Thrifted Sunflower Mirror - Simple Saturday Afternoon DIY Upcycle

Hi Friends,

I went to several Yards sale with my grand kids yesterday and one of the thrifted find I decided to upcycle today. A super easy project.

At one of the sales I found this very cool sunflower mirror for a $1.00, with metal petals and knew how I would upcycle this sunflower mirror.

I used a little Aleene's Tacky Glue and adhered to the mirror and added the fabric to the mirror

Here is my homespun fabric, I really thought about using the red-ish brown check

You know how I love black and white check

This turned out so nice and a super quick project besides.

Maybe you have a different idea I would love to hear, how you would upcycle this sunflower mirror.

I just want to thank you for stopping by, check back next week to see what I'm up to.

I post my weekly vintage thrift hauls and vignettes of where I incorporate the treasure in my home, along with seasonal home décor and a few DIY's.

Upcycle a Thrifted Vintage Resin Kitchen Plaque

 Hi Friend,

You may remember, last month I went to a awesome yard sale, there was so many vintage items I ended up going back a second day.

Today, is the day show you how I upcycled this old resin kitchen plaque into a country farmhouse/cottage farmhouse décor piece.

I clean this plaque with a couple sprays of crud cutter and got many years of crud off of this plaque

Then I painted two coats of linen chalk paint, let each coat dry.

I've seen other crafters top the the chalk paint with antique wax to seal it.

So, I applied the antique wax with a paint brush and wiped off the high areas, the more I wiped the high areas, the more the white chalk paint showed through. I think it turned out great.

What do you think? Please leave a comment.

This was a fairly quick upscale project, just allow time to let the paint dry. I have this super cute Kitchen Prayer plaque hanging in the kitchen on an end cabinet.

Check back next week for another update of what is going on at my house.

 Until next time.......,
