Thrifting Sunday In Wyoming-Goodwill

Hi Friends,

It was a rainy Sunday no outdoor exploring so I searched google for any local thrift stores opened on Sunday.

A "Good Will" website popped up, I was kind of surprised I'd find any thrift store opened.

I found a awesome dresser for $37.50! during my visit to Wyoming, couldn't believe it!

I didn't notice there is a missing handle which is kind of a bummer,  but what a good deal! I'll keep my eye out, I may found a handle, That's what is so great about thrifting.

Back in late August I happen upon this lighted china hutch top I purchase for $35.00, I have been on the hunt for a base.

I'm so excited to get going on this project, I've been using the top hutch for storage of seasonal décor, but when I get both pieces finish I'll storage my china

I'll be sanding, stripping and re-stain both of the pieces in the next couple of weeks.

The top four drawer are curved with this great handles

The two bottom drawers have a different shape pull

Thank you for stopping by, when I get this project done I'll be posting it.

So until next post....

Friday Thrifting - In Wyoming

 Hi Friends,

Happy Thrifting Friday! Drove to Wyoming to visit family and stopped by a few thrift store while I was there.

The shop was called "Wyoming Seller Market" it had amazing treasure and the prices were good.

Let me show you what I found.

 The cheese crock I paid $ 2.50
The cheese crock found a home above my kitchen cabinets with my Hall collection.

The Indian brass pipe was so very unique I paid  $40.00 way more than I would pay for second hand.

*****

several pieces of celluloid pieces for the vanity in the guest room each piece was priced at $2.00.

I love the two trays, the larger tray has feet.  Three smaller containers One has I think Vaseline in it, the rectangle piece is a lint brush and two pieces I left were used for collecting hair? it grossed me out so I left those two pieces.  What do you think should I have purchase them all so?

I had the large face powder container and long handled mirror, now I believe a have a complete set

*****

The cute couple are a little larger than the other pieces in my collection and look at the bottom there's a weight I believe

New Vintage Treasure -Decorate with Me

 Hi Friends,

Welcome to 'My Little Colorado Cottage', today I'd like to show you where I incorporated the thrifted treasure I found Sunday

I added the cute little milk glass jar from Avon in a cubby on the hutch with the rest of my growing collection of milk glass.

The framed crochet purple butterfly I set up on top a vintage high boy in the spare room, the framed snow scene, will be displayed in December

The orange and gold frame I'm using in my Halloween décor so check by to see the project
*****

The small thread spindle I place in my sewing corner with three other spindle I've picked up this summer while thrifting spending under $5.00 so surprised with the price.

*****

A while back I found this large wooden embroidery hoop for $.50 I think.  I realized, I need a larger hoop for this art piece, but for now I think it's a nice addition for my vintage Fall décor.  What do you think?

Here is the sweet little picnic basket, I just stacked it on top the other basket I have in my living room, and Yes, I use them for storage, LOL

The little green box, I would like to line it, but for now I have one of my vintage hankies lining the bottom of the box.

I have the box setting on vanity tray with a few vintage violet bottles.

Lastly, the super cute suede table scarf, I'm using it on my kitchen table with the Harvest napkins. I love all of the Autumn colors.

I would love to know what is your favorite treasure  you look for when out thrifting.

Please check back to see what's going at "My Little Colorado Cottage", I share my love of gardening, my love of thrifting for vintage treasure and seasonal decorating.
So until the next post.......

Thrifting at Local Vintage Thrift Store

 Hi Friends,

One of my favorite store was open on Sunday, so I went to see what I could find for under $10.00.
Last time I stopped by the prices has seemed to double.
I did find a few things.

The flower pot this summer have been a couple of dollars witch is a good price I think for vintage flower pots. I paid $3.00 each this trip.

The little ruler was marked a $ 1.00. I added it to the apple box on the corner shelf in the office nook.

I placed a green apple on top of the rusty bucket to accent the green hue on the bucket, paid $1.00.

I've been kind of collecting small copper lids, lol,  trying to find one that fits the copper tea pot on the kitchen shelf, I thrifted sometime back. I paid $2.00 and now have 4 copper lids.

I used to collect clear press glass dishes about twenty years ago and have a small  collection that I used at Thanksgiving time like covered butter dish, divided relish plate etc. that is  boxed up.

But, this little dish is to cute! for $3.00

I want to thank you for checking, I hope you found some inspiration from the the things I find and how I incorporate the treasure into my home collections.

Until my next post........

Vintage Thrifting - Last weekend in August to Yard Sale

 Hi Friends,

I'm at it again, Yard Sale Time today I found Rooster & Hens to add to the collection.

1950's Westmoreland candy, trinket covered dish for $3.00.  The red comb is worn and there is a chip on the nest portion, I I love it.

For now I have this super cute milk glass nesting hen trinket/candy dish

At the same yard sale I found these for a $1.00 a piece.

I tried to research this cutie but of no avail ,
I purchase this hen for $3.00

I place this adorable hen in a vintage lunch tin That I store my heart rocks I collected

My first thrifted metal flower frogs! When I was ready to pay for the flower frogs the gentlemen asked me what they were use for, lol.

I just used a few adhesive stencil from Wal-Mart I think, and stuck them on yellow index cards, display the stencils with the flower frog.

*****

Same yard sale there was a price of $10.00 on it I was going to see if I could get a better prices, however I thought he gave me a great price on the chicken and the flower frogs.

1950's white scale with red trim, when I saw the cutie I was doing a happy dance.
At my thrift stores any type of scales the price is starting at $25.00 and up.
I've got the scale sitting up on the kitchen cabinets

*****
At a different yard sale I found this curio cabinet for $.50  I was thinking using it for either my blue glass collection or the perfume bottles in the guest room

I have displaying the perfume bottles in the guest room for now, sitting on top of a high-boy dresser.

*****

Also, I spied this unique artisan pottery hot drink mug.  I liked the color and will use it as a vase

*****
This last yard sale I went to had some many handcrafted afghans, but I saw this red buffalo check

Marlboro Country Store - car blanket 50% wool, defiantly for Christmas, Very Cool!

*****

While I was out I stopped by the vintage thrift store to see if I could find a base for my NEWLY thrifted hutch top. I found some possibilities but need to think it over I'm not looking for a buffet but just a small cabinet to sit the china cabinet on.

I walked through the store and found a few things that were a $1.00 each.

I tried to find some facts on the white cup, but I'm using it as a shaving mug on the shelf in the bathroom

the cute little basket is hanging from a shelf in my living room.

The vintage silver foil hot pad I purchased is going up on the kitchen cabinet shelf in a vignette with some of my vintage 1950's hand painted in Japan rooster treasures.

I want to thank you for checking today, to see what I thrifted. I hope I gave you some inspiration on how to style the treasure you find while out thrifting.

I'm trying to post a couple times a week with thrift hauls, vignettes, and my seasonal decorating in my home inside and outside.

Until the next.............
