Vintage Winter Décor Vignettes - In the Den

 Hi Friends,

It is time to start pulling out some of my snowmen for my winter décor.  Today I'll been adding a few touches to the red shelves in the den.

I added a "Snow-Baby" figurine to a shelve I display a few of my cigar boxes along with a little snowman with a red scarf.

I also added a glistening snow flake

Greenery is also something I like to add here and there in my decorating.

The little bottle tree, pinecones, berries, fir boughs are added to my vignettes.

I found quite a few grab bags last summer with wooden thread spools, while thrifting.  I have been adding the inexpensive bottle brush trees to the wooden spools for Christmas and winter décor when I can.

Here is the little cigar box I thrifted during Christmas break, I filled it with white vintage buttons and sat the blue enamel cup on top.

I brought back the frosted pinecone I DIY last year I think I like the contrast of the natural white frost pinecones.

I hope you found some inspiration and get out your snowflake and snowmen to use in your winter décor.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time
May God Bless You and Your Family

Rustic Snowflake For Winter Décor

 Hi Friends,

Today, I'm just crafting a very quick and simple snowflake made from twigs the tree out back , to add a rustic piece to the mantel..

I grabbed a few limbs for the cottonwood tree out back, sized up the sticks and arranged the stick like a star by stacking one on top of each other glued them together.

I had thought about gluing the plastic snowflake on top of stick star but, decided to just add the center piece.

I feel this quick DIY turned out quite nice it definitely added some interest to the mantel.  Thank you so much for checking in to see what I have been doing this week, so until next time.

May God Bless You and Your Family,

Rustic Winter Décor - Transition from Christmas to Winter in the Den

Hi Friends,

Setting up my fireplace mantel first, get the creative juice's flowing for me.  This year I thought about bring out more of the red black buffalos checks and woodsy feel for the foundation of my winter décor.  In past years I've done red birds, snowmen, or icy, snowy winter with snowflakes.

On the mantel I place two trees on either side that are sat in galvanized buckets.  That are cover with red/ black buffalo checked scarfs all of these items I bought at Dollar Tree.
I also added a few vintage bottles, pine cones and a milk glass vase with red berries.

In the center of the mantel I added this Baby it's Cold Outside, sign I crafted last winter, along with a few of my vintage canning jars.

A thrifted cardinal plate from last winter, and of course the black/white and red/black checked ribbon and pine garland that I love to add to the mantel.

Also in the den I found a place for the cast metal candle holder, I thrifted this month,

A glass flower frog that was handed down from my grandmother, one of my cigar boxes filled with pine cones and greenery weathered sticks from my yard.

On one of the shelves in the den is a vintage blue lunch box to display my collection of glass door knobs, greenery a few pine cones and red berries.

On top of the Pepsi crate I placed a vintage white mug with a little greenery and red berries and an chrome plate pocket warmer with a red bag that I found in the trunk.

In the Pepsi crate I changed a few things, added a little blue bottle and a children's tea saucer and a little greenery and berries.

Over in a corner of the den, I placed wool blankets in the wooden "Black Label" box on top of the trunk,

I also pulled out some of the games we play with the kids for time to time, some of the cold days in winter.

I like this arrangement, I made up for Christmas, using a vintage tobacco box, some pine greenery pine cones and this very large hurricane chimney.

I thrifted the hurricane chimney several years ago and didn't know how to use it. I really like how this center piece came to gather.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated my mantel for the winter months.

Until the next time God Bless You,

Happy New Year!

Not a traditional New Year Menu

We decided this year to set up an appetizer buffet and kind of snack through out the day and just watch movies and play games.

Relish tray of midget sweet pickle, black and green olives and sliced tomatoes, and cream cheese stuffed celery.

pigs in blanket ( little weenies wrapped in a crescent roll)

Everyone enjoyed the beef links in a blanket  we baked 48 weenie bundles and there was not a single one left.

Thanks for stopping by, hope all of you had a wonderful New Year Day!

Baby it's Cold Outside

Brrrrr....I woke up to -20* here in NW Colorado. This actually is not that unusual on an average we get at least 2-3 weeks of super cold weather every year around this time.  Way to cold to go outside, I think it's a good day to stay inside and work on something.

Have a Great Day!
