February Decor

Here are some of the areas of my home that I decorate for the seasons

A cherished black shelf in my entry way, that my mother painted beautiful flowers on.

Happy New Year! and Resolutions

1127376167y899Ly[1]

Have you thinking about a New Year Resolution? I have and this is what I would like to do…….

I’m going to try and blog at least once a week if not two and comment on the blogs I follow. Which is a long list

Laughing out loud I’m terrible about spending 1/2 day or about 5 hours reading blog that I follow to get my day started and not commenting to make their day.

I surf to get motivation and encouragement and never thank you ladies. SORRY

I’m going to make a challenge to my self  to work at doing my part.

Did you make a Resolution? What change are you going to make? For yourself or your blog?

Happy New Year!

New Year is just around the corner and everyone will have a thought about what will or will not change in the new year

I’m going to try and blog at least once a week if not two and comment on the blogs I follow.

Thumbs down(I’m real bad about reading to boost my day and not comment to make their day.

Have a Great weekend!

Fall is approaching

All the blogs I follow are talking about stocking up for winter baking.
Funny thing is, I recently started working at a Kroger branch store in the bakery department and I have had a dozen customers, asking to purchase, used icing buckets, to store their oat, flour or sugar in.

Happy Easter

easter_chick[1]

Now that my kids are older there is always some one working or is out of town, there really isn’t any hype about the coloring the eggs for the Easter Bunny or the Easter Egg Hunt any more, but they still want to have a picnic (if the weather permits), dinner with all the fixings.

I asked my daughter if she wanted to color eggs this year, she said,” she didn’t have time and was to old for that sort of thing.”   However, she was disappointed that I didn’t buy a bag of  robins eggs this year.Go figure?  I just couldn’t because, I’m trying to stay on a food management program and I don’t have will power to stay away from the bag!  Anyway, I did plan for an Easter Dinner and this is what I made…

Easter Dinner Menu

*Glazed Spiral Ham*

*Scalloped Potatoes*

*Green bean casserole*

*Deviled eggs*

And for Dessert - *Pineapple Upside Down Cake*

The day turned out pretty good, my youngest daughter work Easter, so I had a few close friends over and held dinner till she got off work.

Happy Easter,

Happy Valentine's Day

I didn't have class today, so I decided that this was a great day to make cookies!

I used the recipe that called for one box cake mix,1/2 cup of cooking oil, and two eggs, bake @350* for 10 minutes let cool.  I made a powder sugar icing added a little red food coloring to make it pink.  I also added a few drops of red food coloring to a 1/4 cup of white sugar to sprinkle on top in the shape of a heart using a small heart shape cookie cutter. I think they turned out great!

Did you make cookie today?

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Thanksgiving

I decided to cook a Ham for Dinner today at the request of DD2.  So we had Spiral Ham, Mashed potatoes and gray and pumkin pie.
This is the 1st time I have made a pumkin pie by scatch and suprisingly it turned out okay. I just followed the recipe from a can of Libby's Pumkin Pie filling so easy.

Hi Friends,

Some of us will be going to Memorial Day services at the cemetery, some of us will be going camping, some us will be gathering with family for a picnic, some of us will going to parades to honor our fallen soldiers,   men and women that have helped to keep our Freedom in America.

What ever your doing today, please take a moment to remember our fallen soldiers that helped in making the United States of America a darn nice place to live.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Did I just see a little red bearded man leaving a gold piece behind? That's right, it's..........    Saint Patricks Day!
With all the kids in the house, I've been thinking about what would be fun for supper tonight, maybe "Green Eggs and Ham" "Cornbeef and Cabbage", and maybe something fun with JELLO.  Reality check .... kids and I are in school, not a lot of time in my day.  I picked up a 2 lb package of cornbeef and a couple of pounds of red potatoes last week.  So before school I got the cornbeef and potatoes in the crock pot set on low and off to school we go! Not very Irish I know, but it's what my kids will eat.

Have a Great Day!
Thanks for stopping by Colorado Junkett

- sprintz Christmas tree cookies
- old fashion sugar cookies with butter icing
- cherry chocolate cookies
I plan to pack the cookies in a tin lined with tissue paper and tied with festive ribbon.

The Great Pumkin project

The Halloween excitement is starting to escalate in the house! Liz bought some gel windows clings that spell out "Happy Halloween" and "Boo Boo Boo". I 've been trying to put out a few Halloween and Fall Decorations. The Angela her friends have been going through the Halloween costume box trying to figure out what there costume is going to be this year.

I picked up pumpkins to carve. I really don't think Dameon knew what was going with all the seeds and the gooey stuff. This is really Dameon's first year doing this project. He's 23 months in these pictures.

I think the whole family had a good time.

Who said BBQ's and Rain mix?

Memorial Day

.......A day to take a moment out of our busy weekend to remember our Veterans...........

Why is it that when your planning a Great family get together, Mother Nature decides to let it rain big time!!!!??I was hoping to take a picture or two of us all together, but about the time I 'd get the camera out, it started raining again.

We did have a little break in the cloud and walked six blocks to main street where our Chamber of Commerce was putting on a Car Show and street festival.

I still did some grilling, we made the basic picnic menu....steak,baked beans, potato salad, cream cheese stuffed celery and chocolate chip cookies for desert.

Happy Monday
