A Walk Through the Garden - Zinnias , Marigolds and Sunflowers are Blooming!

Hi Friends,

Today, I thought I would show you around my garden

We had a very cold Spring so my garden is about a month behind.

Zinnia's are finally in bloom! Yeah!

Beautiful marigolds! No two are the same in color.

Sunflowers!

Usually my sunflowers re-seed them selves Not this year, I planted seeds this year however, had a big issue with slugs eating every sun flower sprout.  I planted this sunflower in a pot.

This very delicate purple bloom is a wild flower

re-seeds it's self every year, isn't it beautiful?

Yarrow

Hoping the tomatoes have time to ripen

Corn I have several ears that have silk

Pumpkin plant really behind not sure if this little pumpkin will make it before our first freeze, I'm hoping for a "Indian Summer"

Cucumbers are small

I want to thank you for checking in, I hope seeing the flowers in my garden give you a smile....My garden is my happy place.

I post vintage thrift hauls, vignettes to show off found treasures and seasonal home décor inside and outside of my home.

Thrifting at Local Vintage Thrift Store

 Hi Friends,

One of my favorite store was open on Sunday, so I went to see what I could find for under $10.00.
Last time I stopped by the prices has seemed to double.
I did find a few things.

The flower pot this summer have been a couple of dollars witch is a good price I think for vintage flower pots. I paid $3.00 each this trip.

The little ruler was marked a $ 1.00. I added it to the apple box on the corner shelf in the office nook.

I placed a green apple on top of the rusty bucket to accent the green hue on the bucket, paid $1.00.

I've been kind of collecting small copper lids, lol,  trying to find one that fits the copper tea pot on the kitchen shelf, I thrifted sometime back. I paid $2.00 and now have 4 copper lids.

I used to collect clear press glass dishes about twenty years ago and have a small  collection that I used at Thanksgiving time like covered butter dish, divided relish plate etc. that is  boxed up.

But, this little dish is to cute! for $3.00

I want to thank you for checking, I hope you found some inspiration from the the things I find and how I incorporate the treasure into my home collections.

Until my next post........

Vintage Thrifting - Last weekend in August to Yard Sale

 Hi Friends,

I'm at it again, Yard Sale Time today I found Rooster & Hens to add to the collection.

1950's Westmoreland candy, trinket covered dish for $3.00.  The red comb is worn and there is a chip on the nest portion, I I love it.

For now I have this super cute milk glass nesting hen trinket/candy dish

At the same yard sale I found these for a $1.00 a piece.

I tried to research this cutie but of no avail ,
I purchase this hen for $3.00

I place this adorable hen in a vintage lunch tin That I store my heart rocks I collected

My first thrifted metal flower frogs! When I was ready to pay for the flower frogs the gentlemen asked me what they were use for, lol.

I just used a few adhesive stencil from Wal-Mart I think, and stuck them on yellow index cards, display the stencils with the flower frog.

*****

Same yard sale there was a price of $10.00 on it I was going to see if I could get a better prices, however I thought he gave me a great price on the chicken and the flower frogs.

1950's white scale with red trim, when I saw the cutie I was doing a happy dance.
At my thrift stores any type of scales the price is starting at $25.00 and up.
I've got the scale sitting up on the kitchen cabinets

*****
At a different yard sale I found this curio cabinet for $.50  I was thinking using it for either my blue glass collection or the perfume bottles in the guest room

I have displaying the perfume bottles in the guest room for now, sitting on top of a high-boy dresser.

*****

Also, I spied this unique artisan pottery hot drink mug.  I liked the color and will use it as a vase

*****
This last yard sale I went to had some many handcrafted afghans, but I saw this red buffalo check

Marlboro Country Store - car blanket 50% wool, defiantly for Christmas, Very Cool!

*****

While I was out I stopped by the vintage thrift store to see if I could find a base for my NEWLY thrifted hutch top. I found some possibilities but need to think it over I'm not looking for a buffet but just a small cabinet to sit the china cabinet on.

I walked through the store and found a few things that were a $1.00 each.

I tried to find some facts on the white cup, but I'm using it as a shaving mug on the shelf in the bathroom

the cute little basket is hanging from a shelf in my living room.

The vintage silver foil hot pad I purchased is going up on the kitchen cabinet shelf in a vignette with some of my vintage 1950's hand painted in Japan rooster treasures.

I want to thank you for checking today, to see what I thrifted. I hope I gave you some inspiration on how to style the treasure you find while out thrifting.

I'm trying to post a couple times a week with thrift hauls, vignettes, and my seasonal decorating in my home inside and outside.

Until the next.............
