Thrifting for Vintage Inspired Christmas Treasures

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! As you can see I'm starting to gather up some Christmas Treasures.

Today, the store seemed not well stocked, but I found a few interesting Christmas treasures!

First treasure I found were  Christmas tins,
I paid a total of $2.75 for this group of 5 tins, which are going to look great in my Christmas vignettes this season.
***
I also found a bag of colorful crochet cotton thread for $1.50, I really like using these cotton thread spools for risers or to add color in my vignettes.
***
A super find I feel, is this bag of "Made in the USA, Satin Sheen ornaments for $3.00

I feel I found some awesome items at a great price today.

Autumn Among My Vintage Collections

Hi Friends,

Today, I'm so excited to share how I'm adding some Autumn touches to some of my vintage collections.
***
This Fall season I'm using pumpkins, acorns, pinecones, fall pip-berries and color leaves.
***
As you know I love thrifting for vintage treasures, and I really like picking up vintage jello molds ...........

........in this cubby I made a little pumpkin using two molds for the pumpkin and a vintage glass drawer knob as a stem
I do love milk glass, usually priced fairly and easy to find (my collection is growing).

I have always enjoyed finding vintage canning jars, they are reasonably priced at $2-4's and not to hard to find.  My favorite jars are the lavender color jar, they are a little harder to find.
Over 30 years ago I started collecting "Hull's" brown drip pottery.  The year I was married (1980) I had a nice table setting gifted to us from my mother-in-law. I used it for many years.
Unfortunately, I gave it away.
Now I'm collecting it again, go figure?

Upscale Old Faux 'DT' Pumpkins

Hi Friends,

Today, I'm so excited to share how I'm adding natural pumpkin vines to "DT" pumpkins.
***
I grew pumpkins this year ,however the season was short and all I have is a whole lot of vines.
***
So, I decided to use the vines and upscale a few 'DT' pumpkins
Here are the vines I collected to add to "DT" faux pumpkins.
***

***
Here's how I have incorporated the amazing upscale pumpkins into my 'Fall Decor' here on top of the hutch.

***
A couple of pumpkins were put on the mantel

Friday Vintage Thrifting - So Many Sewing Notions

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! Today, sharing what I found at my local vintage thrift store

This particular day, it didn't seem like there were any new and reasonably priced treasures to be found!

A second time through, I notice a large basket of grab bags in the sewing area.

This bag looked interesting for $3.00. Is that a little sewing basket?
Isn't this little basket cute?
Inside this cute basket were odds & ends
fabric swatches, buttons, packet of sewing needles, tiny brash safety pins,
measuring tape, 6" ruler and a metal shoe horn with advertising!
***
some other items in the grab-bag were wooden thread spools, a tweezer, coarse black thread, spool of pink ribbon, buttons, and a little seam ripper
***
Second grab bag for $2.50 .....
Had more sewing notions
rick-rack, pocket liners, thick black thread,
***
a nice bundle of red and white ruffle lace trim,
vintage black and red type writer ribbon,
1-inch elastic waist band on a card, 1/4-inch elastic bundle,
and a interesting 'Moppolls' instruction sheet.
I remember back in the 80's or 90's this craft project was a favorite in all the craft fair shows.
***
Also in the grab-bag....
was this cute little 1960's Childs Sundress Pattern

Also a pattern to embroider the flowers on the front of the dress

***

The favorite of this grab-bag is the Cross and Crown Quilt pattern with templates!

I was so glad to have the opportunity to stopped by my local vintage thrift store today.
***
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.
***
I would love to hear what you have found thrifting and how you have used or styled it in your home.
***
 So until my next post......

Vintage-Inspired Fall Decorating - Making a Few Changes on the Hutch

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here!
It's time to change-up the hutch in my entry-room for Autumn.
As you can see I left the picnic basket and stuffed it with fauz pumkins some bitter-sweet and a diy felt crow.

I have choose to use kind of bright color, orange yellow, green and a bit of red. Also incorporated a few new thrifted vintage treasures

Brass planters,

diy, jello mold Pumpkins

faux pumpkins with upcycle stems,

a new pair of Hen & Rooster S&Ps

thrifted faux acorns

thrifted 'Fire-King' mug
***
I gathered up a couple of the Fall colored Thermoses
to add to the mix.
***

Vintage Thrifting Friday!

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! The yard sale were sparse today.
But, I did find a couple of treasures to add to my many vintage collections!

so, here we go!
First,
I spied this packet of individual 'create a craft' all the pieces were cut out and in little baggies. All you had to do is glue together.

This will be a great project for the grand kids when they visit.
***
 Second,
was these adorable crochet pot holder. I'll be placing them into my seasonal decor.

While digging through boxes I found my......

Third treasure,
a nice pair of darning scissors.
***

I do not know about you, BUT....
I always find some kind of treasure when I'm thrifting.
***

Fourth treasure,
Is a adorable light blue vintage powder box, maybe from the 40's?

It really doesn't go with what I have
who knows, maybe I can find some more pieces of this vanity set.
***

I also found this amazing aged vintage book, love the worn red color!
and will look great as a riser for my decor.
***

Fifth treasure,
to be found were these cute metal Santa coasters and a set of 6 crochet Red coasters

and the cute "Christmas in Love" tin with a pair of cute Bunnies

*****

These items are not vintage but, you can never have to much Red, White, and Blue decorations! Am I right??

a dozen small cloth American flags, starry wired ribbon, sparkly Red, White, and blue garland and a roll craft mesh .
I'll put this bundle of patriotic away for next year.
