Autumn Among My Vintage Collections

Hi Friends,

Today, I'm so excited to share how I'm adding some Autumn touches to some of my vintage collections.
***
This Fall season I'm using pumpkins, acorns, pinecones, fall pip-berries and color leaves.
***
As you know I love thrifting for vintage treasures, and I really like picking up vintage jello molds ...........

........in this cubby I made a little pumpkin using two molds for the pumpkin and a vintage glass drawer knob as a stem
I do love milk glass, usually priced fairly and easy to find (my collection is growing).

I have always enjoyed finding vintage canning jars, they are reasonably priced at $2-4's and not to hard to find.  My favorite jars are the lavender color jar, they are a little harder to find.
Over 30 years ago I started collecting "Hull's" brown drip pottery.  The year I was married (1980) I had a nice table setting gifted to us from my mother-in-law. I used it for many years.
Unfortunately, I gave it away.
Now I'm collecting it again, go figure?

Fall Swag Using Natural Elements for Mid-Autumn

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I was able to gather a few items to make a Fall swag

I'm using some corn stalk leaves, bits of tree limbs from my garden and faux flowers from my crafting supplies.
This seemed to be a pretty easy DIY, that took about 10 minutes, once I had all of the items I wanted to use together, then it was bundling like items together.

My Little Colorado Cottage

Step #1 - bundled the twigs

Step #2 - added corn stalk leaves

Step #3 - I made a little bundle of the faux flowers
Step #4 - attached it to the branch bundle

with this swag I used a shade of orange sunflower and attached to a window frame in my entry room.

This yellow sunflower swag I placed on the window frame over my mantel

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what I have been doing this weekend.

I would love to hear what you have found thrifting or what your ideas for decorating for Fall.

 So until my next post......

July Weekend Thrifting for Vintage Treasures

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! I've been spending a lot of time out in the garden, but I did get a chance to hit a few yard sales with my Grandson.

Today, I'm so excited to share what we found!

The 1st stop,
I found 7-Fire King Mugs, in fairly good shape, I paid a $1.00 each. Not a bad price!

I love the colors and will be stashing the mugs away in the buffet until fall.
***
I'm using the Blue Enamel Tin cup on the cocktail cart.
***
Second stop, had some goodies...

I found a wood Pipe Rest with a copper top, for $5.00. You know where this is going.
Now I'm on the hunt for a couple of cool pipes to display on this amazing stand.
***
Another great find,
a box of around 20 - Mechanic Illustrated magazines dated in the 1960's for $2.00 each.

Why I only bought two? I have no idea!, look at the ephemera!
***
Next,
I grabbed this cute Fisher Price Radio/Clock, for my small toy collection, it plays "Hickory Dickory Dock" the front is in good shape, however the printed song on back is missing.
***
Lastly,
I saw two washboards they were real similar one for $10.00 in a little better shape, the one I brought home needed a bit of TLC for $2.00.
Actually it was coming apart the tin piece wasn't attached on one side, so the Gentleman just gave it me.
When I got home, I glued the tin into the groove and used a clamp to pull the side tight until the glue set.

National Washboard Co.
I can't wait to get started on my laundry area project.
***
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week. Like I said the haul is small this week, but I think I found some great treasure

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a few awesome treasures, I found out thrifting this week at my local thrift store.
***
First of all,
I found actually four collective Spoon Caddy's, I brought two home @ $1.50 each. I do plan on sprucing them up so, check back later to see how I'm using them.
***
Next,
I found three older sewing patterns, that I'm thinking about framing for $0.25 each.
***
Another Treasure I found,
Was a Milk Glass Shade for $2.00, I was thinking about a lamp I have in the guest room that has a funky shade that doesn't fit.
***

Then,
I was so surprised to find this cutie, for $1.50!
 Made in Japan
I'll be packing the treasure away for next Easter.
***
These hand made picture holders I just couldn't pass up at $0.50 each.
***
I thought the Framed Artisan Pieces, (image traced on copper) was very cool and will look great in the other guest room that kind of western themed for $0.50.

***
I found another Milk Glass vase for $1.00, this pattern I do not have. It is a Starburst Pattern, just a little different from my other Milk Glass bud vases.
***
Lastly,
I found a not so vintage Wooden Drawer for $3.00, I like the sanded paint on it and for $3.00, I'm using it for a shelf in my sewing nook.
