Friday Thrift - Looking for Vintage Thanksgiving Décor

 Hi Friends,

My plan is to get started pulling out some of my November décor this weekend.

I stopped in at local thrift to look for Thanksgiving treasure.

I found a few Fall-ish treasures .

Four vintage "Mallard Ducks low ball wide bottom whiskey cocktail glasses $1.50 each

aren't they cool looking, to use in the Fall months?

*****

I also found a Avon 1981 Chesapeake Flying Canadian mug/stein for $3.00 would have liked to find a few more, but for now I think Ill add this mug to my Mantel display

*****

I do not normally pick up white and blues pieces, however, this mug has rooster and hens print on it it doesn't look blue in the picture more black print, I paid $1.00.

Has rooster/hen print on both sides, I'll be using this mug for coffee in summer.

Stamped on the bottom - Classic Ceramic California pantry 2002 made in China

*****
The small pine cone wreath I paid $1.00 I'll save it for Christmas décor next month, maybe add a little red pip berries, what do you think

*****
I've seen others on social media picking up brass birds and since I've decorated for Fall with fowl, I thought I take a chance at $4.50 and brought home this solid brass quail paper weight.

on the bottom there is a sticker made in Korea.
What do you think did I pay to much?
*****

I just picked up one, there were a total of four, I just don't collect to many plates, I really don't have room, LOL, I collect to many other treasures.

isn't it a awesome salad plate with a pair of quails for $.50
on the back it was stamped

Furnivals 1913
 Quail
Made in England
R&N 8 477

Should I go back and get the other three? I could use them as desert plate at Christmas? Maybe.

Lastly, found a great necklace $2.50 it's real heavy (maybe cast) with light blue stone or beads on the edge of the leaf.

The circular brooch for a $1.00, I'm thinking I could attach a stone or picture on it.

My only granddaughter loves dressing up and clip on earrings are easy for her to use so I picked up this pair for $1.00

New Vintage Treasure -Decorate with Me

 Hi Friends,

Welcome to 'My Little Colorado Cottage', today I'd like to show you where I incorporated the thrifted treasure I found Sunday

I added the cute little milk glass jar from Avon in a cubby on the hutch with the rest of my growing collection of milk glass.

The framed crochet purple butterfly I set up on top a vintage high boy in the spare room, the framed snow scene, will be displayed in December

The orange and gold frame I'm using in my Halloween décor so check by to see the project
*****

The small thread spindle I place in my sewing corner with three other spindle I've picked up this summer while thrifting spending under $5.00 so surprised with the price.

*****

A while back I found this large wooden embroidery hoop for $.50 I think.  I realized, I need a larger hoop for this art piece, but for now I think it's a nice addition for my vintage Fall décor.  What do you think?

Here is the sweet little picnic basket, I just stacked it on top the other basket I have in my living room, and Yes, I use them for storage, LOL

The little green box, I would like to line it, but for now I have one of my vintage hankies lining the bottom of the box.

I have the box setting on vanity tray with a few vintage violet bottles.

Lastly, the super cute suede table scarf, I'm using it on my kitchen table with the Harvest napkins. I love all of the Autumn colors.

I would love to know what is your favorite treasure  you look for when out thrifting.

Please check back to see what's going at "My Little Colorado Cottage", I share my love of gardening, my love of thrifting for vintage treasure and seasonal decorating.
So until the next post.......

In the Garden DIY from thrifted Finds

 Hi Friends,

Remember a couple of weeks ago I picked up three Pampered Chef tart pans at my local community thrift store for $1.25 each, for a back yard DIY project, I wanted to try.

using Kilts I gave the pans a base coat, and let it dry over night

Next I gave all three a second coat of Kilts and let it dry- still not great coverage, but continued on with the next step,

Using a crackle medium from Delta Ceram-coat I  covered the three pan with a layer of the crackle medium

 waited about forty-five minutes

I had some left over all- purpose acrylic craft paint in the color "Bright Yellow" and put a good layer over the semi-dry crackle paint.

Let it dry, can you see the crackle affect?

This is in the back yard on a wall of the garage.  I love how this project turned out for a fairly simple project to do.

Tell me what you think, I just love the bright the color.

I want to thank you for stopping by, I try to post at least once a week, with thrift hauls, vignettes where I show off the new found treasures in and outside of my home.

Until next week.....
