I Found Some Christmas Decorations.... PLUS ......a Fun Find! Box of 1950's - 1970 Ephemera - Yard Sale Weekend

Hi Friends,
 I'm so glad your here!
Today, I'm so excited to share Christmas Decor! I found out yard selling this weekend.

All Christmas items for $5.00!

There were 4 or 5 cases of 1 1/2" or 2" multiple color ornaments!
I've accumulated so many ornaments in the past year out thrifting, I didn't think I needed any more!

However, I've gotten into making vintage inspired assemblages for the holidays, so I can justify buying 3 boxes, RIGHT?
***
-Christmas Jingle Bells-

I've been collecting little brass bells to make a Brass Christmas Bell Wreath for some time... for the prices I couldn't pass over the Jingle Bells.
***

-Red Faux Velvet Christmas Bows with Little Bells-

For crafting or to add to Christmas presents.
I thought the Holly Tin will look great as a riser in a Christmas vignette later this year.
***

-Christmas Crafting-

Faux Satin ornaments are great for crafting along with the confetti Santa's for assemblage's
the Santa Garland was interesting. I'll probably cut out individual Santa's to make stickers or adorn Christmas presents.

-Ephemera!-

If you remember a month ago I stopped by this 'once a month' yard sale and only bought 2 magazines for $2.00 each.

As you can see the box of Mechanic Illustrated Magazines was still there.
Got got the box of 65 magazines for $25.00.
Tobacco advertisement's that I'm thinking I may frame and add to my vintage tobacco collection
I think this was a good bargain.

-For a Collection-

older green/blue mason jar for $5.00 will go into the Ball Jar collection.

A Vintage Christmas Thrift Store Haul

I've been watching a lot of home decorators on you tube, lately and all the
awesome DYI's, these very crafty people have come up with using thrifted items.

This weekend I shopped my 3 local thrift stores.  Here is what I found and how I display some of the items.

I found this bag of miscellaneous Christmas balls for $1.50

I added the bag of vintage Christmas balls to
my Formosas cigar box.

This cute little Santa I paid $3.00

I  combined a thrifted  wicker sleigh I painted, white using chalk paint add a little bag to hold presents, a little white foo-velveteen deer ornament to make this vignette.

I was so surprised to find these Christmas tree tart cups for $.25

I will use them in my trier tray I think.

I found these nicely painted bells with snowmen on them, I kind of feel sad to rust these out.  I've been collecting larger bells the past couple of years to add the rustic feel throughout my Christmas décor.  I follow a you-tube that has a tutorial to rust them so I'm trying the formula out to see if I can rust them up.  This will be a later post.

Thrifting is one of my favorite things to do, it is so much fun to find such treasure.

Thank you for checking in to see what I'm working on
My God Bless you and your family.

DIY Christmas fabric trees project

A trio of fabric trees

This idea came from Katelyn, her you-tube channel is  Krafts by Katelyn , she comes up with some very awesome seasonal home decor craft ideas.

This was a quick diy to add to my Farmhouse Christmas Decor.

I traced out a tree design from printer paper, then I traced the tree shape onto form board and used a ex-zato knife to cut of the tree shape.

Then laid the form board tree shape on the fabric and cut out the shape with scissors

I use Aleene's tacky glue to attach the fabric to the form board.

I felt the tree needed some embellishments

Using twine, old buttons, and a metal star, from the craft store I went to work.

Some I did leave bare

I believe this project turned out GREAT!

Until the next project take care and thanks for stopping by.

DIY Wreath with a Little Red Truck

Using items I all ready had in my stash of craft stuff

This project started with this box I purchased at Dollar Tree I believe a couple of years ago.

I always has wreath forms of some kind, so I used this grapevine wreath form added some pieces from and old garland I had.  Last year in January I purchase two yards of the red striped fabric and red and black checked fabric.  The black and white checked ribbon I purchase from Walmart I believe.

I brushed most of the red glitter off of the truck, then using Apple Barrel gloss red paint and cover the glitter on the truck.

I used one of the little trees to put in the back of truck.

I'm really proud how this project turned out. Let me know what you think.

Thank you for stopping by, until the next time. Vicki

Hi friends,

Here is another seasonal piece, I added to my Christmas décor on my hutch.

I started with this cute sign from Dollar General

and turned it into this.....

I used black chalk paint around the edges drew out lines for planking and and mixed black and white chalk paint to make some age lines and wear.

I believe it is a nice touch to my Farmhouse Christmas décor.   thanks for stopping by.

A quick Christmas Decor DIY using my Canning Jar Collection

This is how I displayed my canning jar collection, using bottle brush trees in my mason jars for Christmas.

I saw this great idea from The Retro Farmhouse to incorporate my collection of canning jars to my Christmas decor.

I had various sizes of bottle brush trees, I added a few cotton balls the bottom of jars put the tree in side the jars and added a toy car the kids had.

I think this project turnout very cute.

Thanks for stopping by, Until the next project.

August thrift finds

I just don't know where my time went during the summer.  I hadn't done much yard selling this summer, but I did stop by one this weekend and look what I found!

I'm not sure where I'm going to put these things, but Ill be sure to show you if I find a place for the items in my house.

I liked the simplistic of the carvings and I have been looking for a glass cube, ( I know that is not the correct name). The little white shelf was just cute so I had to have it.

I'm always on the look out for Christmas decorations, you can never have enough Christmas decorations.  I picked up a box of twinkle lights, a box of pine cone picks with silver bells on them, and a box of red felt bows plus a box of old notebooks and binders that I sure I will use for my binder systems for my projects.

Have a great week!
