Vintage Silver-Plate and Pewter Touches on the Hutch - Decorate With Me for June

 Hi Friends,

Today, I'm decorating the hutch for June.

All I did was, packed up the rustic DIY rustic bird houses, diy bird nest and eggs.

I kept all the white faux florals,

Gathered up my collection of blueish vintage Ball canning jars to display on top of the hutch.

I moved around the white milk glass bud vases into different vignettes,

brought in some silver-plate items like the large platter, pedestal candy dish, and a pewter mug to the top of the hutch.

 *****
I stack the chrome/gray color, metal fishing box on top of the two green tackle boxes that were already on top of the hutch.

In the fishing box I gathered silver-plate cutlery my dad gave me and a couple of metal embroidery hoops.

*****
added a wore-out blue jean diy garland to the top of the hutch

*****
This vignette did not change much I added a pewter mug and pewter saucer and a Towle sterling silver candle stick.

*****

This vignette didn't change much, I rearranged the hens around a bit.

I hope that I'm an inspiration to you to go out and thrift. You just never know what you may find.

I want to thank you for checking in, please checkback any time, I'm trying to post at least every two weeks, with a thrift haul and vignettes of where I have used my new vintage finds.

Until next time.............

Vintage Vignette using Thrifted Silver-Plate and Pewter on the Mantel for June

Hi Friends,

Today I'm re-styling the mantel for June,  I replace the nests with eggs and the diy bird houses with vintage pieces that I've had for many years from around the house.

I love using this diy CountryFarmhouseWreath through out the summer months. You may remember seeing this wreath displayed in my May post "Early Vintage Summer on the Mantel".

I gathered a few thrifted green books to add more color and interest.

I love using this very sentimental piece of pottery in vignette, because my oldest daughter made it, when she was in middle school about 20 years ago.
The pewter platter in the back of this vignette was thrifted last fall.

A couple of silver-plate pieces I pulled from other parts of the house to add another layer to the mantel

In this area of the mantel I rearranged the Hens a little and placed a vintage glass door knob on top of the thrifted books.

If you remember the dilemma I had over this awesome horn mug.
for a while at my local vintage thrift store trying to decide whether I should pick it up or not.

Silver-Plate platter are just a nice vintage treasure to have, their very versatile to use in a vignette. But the nice use of this large platter is for cookies at Christmas time.

If your interested in the diy tutorial of either of the garland check out my post Black and White Check Garland.

I want to thank you for checking in, please check back any time.  I'm trying to post every week with a thrift haul vignettes of where I show off the treasures I find and a few pic's at seasonal home decorating in and outside my home.

Until next time.........

Vintage Haul - Had to Go Back for These 2 Treasures

 Hi Friends,

I stopped by my local antique/thrift store to see what was new.   This is what I came home with.

I have passed up these two items a few times because, I just couldn't figure out where to placed them

I've seen Nicole Northgarden on her You-Tube channel use the casserole dish caddy to style her cookbooks, I just saw Instagram a person on Instagram sit a basket in the middle of the caddy. So... I was thinking maybe a grouping of vintage jars would look nice? I paid $7.50 for the holder
Wm Rogers silver plate.

For now I have placed the vintage casserole caddy on the shelf in guest room holding vintage children books. What do you think?

This pewter mug has been on the shelf for several months and I just couldn't decide if it was vintage or not so finally, last week I search google.  What I found out was it's called a pewter horn mug made by Wilton Armtale in business for 118 years, So I purchased it for $5.00

I gather two other pewter mugs I have thrifted a couple of years ago for a little grouping, I think the mugs look great together.

I am so glad I went back and picked up these treasures they are a great addition to my décor! I think.
Mother's Day is tomorrow and I'm hoping to get out and putter in my back yard.  So please check back to see what I accomplished.

Until next time, thank you for stopping by

Keep the faith and "May God Bless You and Your Family"
