February is Fast Approaching - Decorate with Me

 Hi Friends,

February is fast approaching and I need to get some of my February décor put up.  This year I 'm keeping my Winter Décor up. I like the cozy warm feeling with my 'Winter Décor.'

The Den

I brought out some of my years past February DIY's.   Here in the den, I just stuck these felt hearts I made a few years back, into a hurricane cloche along with the pinecones setting in a tobacco box I had out for my 'Winter Décor.'

The Spanish moss wreath added a nice touch to the red shelves along with the red wooden-bead charm.

I placed white snowflake around to bring in the snowy cozy winter day on the red shelves where I display a couple of vintage cigar boxes.

This year I tried to distress the edges of the DIY conversation hearts to tone the white down some.

I don't think it turned out to bad.  I definitely need some practice using the distressing technique

Another conversation heart I distressed a little

Another wooden heart I added a little distress ink hoping to age it a bit to tone down the stark white I was seeing.

On the hutch

I added some of my favorite DIY's from the past. I also like using chalk boards here and there throughout my home for all seasons.

Christmas Vintage-Farmhouse-Rustic Thrift Haul

 Hi Friends,

I went shopping again after work and look what I found.

A county Christmas

Guess what? ...  I wasn't really looking for clothing today, but I came across this beautiful red sweater for only $4.00. Guess what, it was in my size! I couldn't believe it!

I picked up a box of Holly glass ornaments for $1.50, the box is kind of beat up but their were 11 ornament in this box, so less than $.25 a piece.

I didn't think was a bad price for American made glass ornaments.

This box has a bit smaller ornament, plus a few more if the box was complete.   However, for $1.50 I was able to savage 12 glass ornaments made in the USA.

Bells, Bells, Bells I really wasn't thinking about using Christmas bells in my décor this year, however I just kept finding some. lol!

The bells on the red strap is the second of this kind that I have found, pretty excited about that.  I also the the bell wreath, it will look nice hanging from one of my window frames, I do believe.

I also picked up a bag of bottle brush trees, for $.25. I have seen all over social media many ways to display using these little bottle brush trees.

I was thinking, I have some child building blocks and thread spools, maybe I could add the trees to them.

For $.50 I thought I could definitely use this red trimmed napkin with the pretty poinsettias, as a table scarf.

Some glass Christmas ornaments for $.75, that I had to pick up.

I found this cute red boot $.30.  I had to look it up to find out when it was made. What I found was that this little boot was made by Rosbro, and was filled with candy back in the day.  I'll probably add a bottle brush tree to this cute boot.

The angel candle holder had some great patina to it, I paid $.75.  I went to google to find a manufacture and learned a little more about it, even though the angel looks like pewter or brush metal, it's actually made from brass in Hong Kong.  Who knew?

Best find today was this Mrs. Clause carrying a bag and candy cane, I'm super excited to find this treasure.

For $1.50, who could pass up this gem!

It is stamped Japan.

Super Cute!

Thank you for stopping by to check out my haul.

A Little Thrift Haul From my Local Store - Looking for Vintage Holiday Décor

Hi Friends,

Another haul I'm looking for vintage Halloween or Thanksgiving items. I'm not finding what I'm looking for however, I did come home yesterday with a few items I thought I must have.

The little crocks will go nicely with some of my other crocks.
I was so glad to find the Avon turkey bottle for $1.00.

The twig wreath I'm thinking might be added to my fall/harvest décor some where not sure yet.

As you can see I found a home crochet dish towel hanger which is so unique.

Hey! Check out the Halloween Jack-o-lantern pail I found, it has a mark of 1997 Grand Adventure blow mold who would have figured, I was so surprised!

I'm putting this jack-o-lantern in my Halloween décor.

I also found quite a few bundles of autumn color florals for my fall/harvest décor,(not that I probably have to many, lol) that I will be adding to the sunflowers I already have out.

Look at this awesome picture frame! I'll probably add antiquing wax to age it more, not sure.

I found a vintage looking plater it wasn't vintage thought, I still think it will look nice on the shelf above my kitchen cabinets

A nice red trimmed tray, I'm thinking of stenciling or deco-podge a Santa on it.  The little rocking horse and horse shoe stand I'll be used for Christmas.

*****

This old looking frame caught my eye, I'm thinking about putting this frame in my spare bedroom.

Thank you for stopping by to see the treasures I found this week while thrifting.

So until the next time...

Vintage Farmhouse Home Décor Haul

Hi friends,

Today I was finishing up my Christmas shopping and thought I would hit up a vintage/antique thrift store. They were having all Christmas items half off, I just couldn't find any vintage looking Christmas items that caught my eye.

I did find a few things vintage home décor piece though.

The hen and rooster s/p were cute they both had a chip at base but, I'm keeping them for décor, so it's not a big deal to me.

I really don't need another cookie cutter, but I don't have any with the wooden green handles, so I bought them will probably use them in my spring décor.

I bought the grater because I saw a you-tuber, I follow use graters to hold dish towel or dollies, so I'm adding this grater to my kitchen décor.

Thank you for checking in to see what project I'm working on.

My God Bless you and your family.

Paper Snowflake and large craft sicks from Dollar Tree Project

I found another way to use the snowflake cut outs I made from book pages.

Using the larger craft sticks from Dollar Tree, I built a plaque to glue the left over snowflake on.

Once I had the little plaque glued together this what they looked like
I added a light coat of Waverly White Chalk paint.

Using watered down black and brown acrylic paint to added some distress aging.

I brushed some watered down brown paint to the paper snowflake to age them and glue the snowflake to the plaque.

I really wasn't in love with this project so I decided to cut the rounded end off and added two small jenga block so these plaque would stand.

Thank you for stopping be to see another one of my projects.

Let me know which one of the snowflake projects you have tried.

Until the next project take care of yourself,
Vicki

1st Thrift Haul of 2020!

So So excited with the things I found today!

I'm hoping to use this Pepsi bottle crate to house some of the little hens

This bean pot  came with out lid, but had a USA mark on the bottom, so I had to bring it home with me.

I'm kinda a sucker for retro kitchen items as you will see. When I saw the label I knew I  should bring had another piece home.  I'm hoping I will be able to take the white enamel paint off... huh, will see.

Back in the late 60's, my Aunt gave us kids a set of these Disney books. I have one I have kept over the years and was super excited to find two for $3.50 each, and their in good shape.

This is what I was saying about reto kitchen items.

another exciting item were these kids blocks

This soap tray isn't that old but I just liked it to use as a jewelry or earring tray for my dresser.

Thank you for stopping by, I can't wait to clean these wonderful finds and put the into my decor.

Until next time.  Vicki

Hopping Windup Bunny Make Over

Bunnies

I put together this little vignette of bunnies hoping down the Bunny Trail on a table in my den.

These little bunnies are helping themselves to some DIY carrot at the carrot patch.

I found these cute wind-up bunnies at the Dollar Tree and thought I could embellish them to fill in some area of my Easter decor.

I just enlarged the ears of theses bunnies, by using white and pink felt I had in my craft stash. I think the bunnies turned out so cute.

Today I'm revamping wind-up chicks, the bunnies I did last wee turned out so, so, cute. I decided to

I just love these little wind-up chicks  from Dollar Tree, but I thought they needed a little jazzing up.

Thank you for stopping by to check this Dollar Tree wind-up dyi.
So until next time, have a wonderful rest of your day!
