Vintage Thrift Haul

 Hi Friends,

I just had to drop by my local thrift/ antique store, to see if I could find any new items for my February décor. I did find a few things to add to my some of my collections.

I originally stopped by to look for a few pieces to transform the vintage oil lamps to electric and last time I was there there was a basket with odds and ends of mantels and electrical items.  Unfortunately,  there wasn't much I could not find related to Valentines.

BUT...  This is what I ended up taking home.

a wonderful replica wooden candle stick with a handle? For $1.00

***
Check out the copper lantern with a mark on the bottom "Made in Germany", for $4.00 who knew?

I also picked up a caddy for thread spools, something I can use daily for $1.00.  The green vase caught my eye because of the color and I'm not sure if its Vaseline glass or not, with the added color at the bottom for $1.00.

***

I'm not sure this candle stick for $1.00 is milk glass but, I thought it would look nice with the other milk glass pieces I have.
I'm also hoping the copper lid for $1.00 will fit on the copper tea kettle I thrifted back a couple of months ago.
The wooden buffalos for $1.00,  I just couldn't resist from buying, my grandkids will enjoy playing with it.

***

I did find a couple of things to go with my March and Spring décor this time. This little saucer is just previous, don't you think for $1.00?  The mark on the bottom says, "Royal Albert Bone China, England".

The Vintage/Thrift store I went to is starting to carry linens, these two hand embroidered dollies, caught my eye, they were $1.00 each.

***
I have been on the look out for a reasonable priced aluminum vintage strainer for a while. And to my surprise I found two strainer at $3.00 each, one is unique to me because of the strainer screen at the bottom of the bowl.

The rusty hook or handle that I paid $3.00 dollars for had a weave design, I'm curious if I can clean it up and use it as a hook.

Today my mission was looking for new items to add to my February-Valentine décor.  I was happy when I found this cute little casted iron ring box for $5.00. The trinket box has a vintage looking fabric print on it with a red felt liner and it is footed, very cute.

I know I already have a pair like these but I just couldn't resist!  Even though the pair was $10.00! Confession, I know I have got to be a little more selective when I'm out thrifting.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope I gave you some inspiration to get out there and thrift, you never know what you will find.

Rustic Diy for February With a Vintage Aged Touch

Hi Friends,

I'm putting together a quick Valentine project tonight.

Cut out a few pages from a thrifted music book, crumpled the pages and soak the pages in left over coffee.

I've been wanting to incorporate, this clip board I have had for ever. Using a sheet of red construction paper I glue the cut out heart to it.

For a little embellishment I cut of strip of homespun to back the "Love Song" title

Cut out a heart out of fabric and a button.

Use a word document to type the word LOVE and use different size text to enlarge the words.

Thank you for stopping by, just a quick Valentine made from a music page, a few embellishment.  I think this project turned out so nice.

So until next May God Bless You and Your Family.

February is Fast Approaching - Decorate with Me

 Hi Friends,

February is fast approaching and I need to get some of my February décor put up.  This year I 'm keeping my Winter Décor up. I like the cozy warm feeling with my 'Winter Décor.'

The Den

I brought out some of my years past February DIY's.   Here in the den, I just stuck these felt hearts I made a few years back, into a hurricane cloche along with the pinecones setting in a tobacco box I had out for my 'Winter Décor.'

The Spanish moss wreath added a nice touch to the red shelves along with the red wooden-bead charm.

I placed white snowflake around to bring in the snowy cozy winter day on the red shelves where I display a couple of vintage cigar boxes.

This year I tried to distress the edges of the DIY conversation hearts to tone the white down some.

I don't think it turned out to bad.  I definitely need some practice using the distressing technique

Another conversation heart I distressed a little

Another wooden heart I added a little distress ink hoping to age it a bit to tone down the stark white I was seeing.

On the hutch

I added some of my favorite DIY's from the past. I also like using chalk boards here and there throughout my home for all seasons.

On the Mantel

Thank you for stopping by to see some of my Valentine vignettes, stop by next week to see more.

May God Bless you and Your Family.

Vintage Thrifting for Valentine Décor

 Hi Friends,

I went out of town to visit my Mother this weekend. So I had a chance to visit a thrift store called the Desert Industries.

See what I found....

45 records, I was thinking for Valentines Day, but I also found some Christmas 45's, at a $1.00 each.

I'm always looking for vintage Golden Books, I find a couple  for $.85 each. Super excited about these titles.

I was really glad I brought home the "Little Baptiste".  Copyright 1954

Look at the illustrations I love it!

I'm a plant lover and I have a spider plant that has lots of shoots, so a brass planter is just what a need for transplanting. For $2.00,  I just couldn't resist.

This oak shelf was just $2.00. I'll be putting it up in my living room as is.

Oh, when I spied this wreath I grabbed it!  I love felt I actually have made felt leaf ornies bowl filler for my fall décor.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the wonderful treasures that I found. I'll be working on placing these items in my home. So until next time.....

May God Bless You and Your Family!

Vintage Winter on the Hutch - Thrifted Treasures

 Hi Friends,

Today I'm spreading the wonderful treasures I thrifted during my Christmas break.  One of the newly purchased converted oil lamp, still looking for a shade and chimney, but I'm so excited that it works and I'm please with this purchase.

I love putting these adorable snowmen into my winter décor, that my stepdad carved many years ago.

I used a wicker basket this year, to group a twine cover bottle, a pewter mug and pine cones to the center of this vignette that I have thrifted.

These three little snowmen I thrifted this year, I think they are so adorable, that I had to place them in my winter décor some where on the hutch.

This little vignette has the wooden bowl I thrifted a couple weeks ago.  I love the look of pine cones and berries for a cozy farmhouse feel, for winter.

Thank you for checking in. I hope I gave a little bit of winter decorating inspiration to your day.

January Thrift Haul for Vintage Décor - Look What I Found

Hi Friends,

I have been thrifting again!
Look what I found, so exciting I trying to add a my collection of Dr. Seuss books for the grandkids.

I also found this great music book with some Christmas songs that are featured in the Christmas movies "Rudolph The Red- Nosed Reindeer, couldn't believe it.  I will definitely use the sheet music in my next years décor

Another piano music book I picked had the theme from the movie "Love Story" I'm going to use this in  a sweet vignette for February.

These books I'm adding to my children's book collection

I really love the Illustration's of this nursery rhyme book. The picture are so vintage looking to me.  I love this book.

When I saw these lanterns I just had to pick them up.  Many years ago I found a pair of similarly brass lantern at an auction that I use out side.

I purchased this lantern chimney hoping it will fit on one of the oil  lamps I bought last month.

This cute little dish didn't have any signage on it, but it was so cute.  Not sure how to use it yet in my décor.

This pair of skate are a great find, but I have to confess I spent way above my limit.  I spent $15.00!   Aren't they wonderful?

I will be putting them out front, however there is so much snow! I'll be adding the great pair of skates to a indoor vignette.

Thank you so much for checking in to see what I have been up to this very cold January.

May God Bless you and your family!
