Vintage-Inspired Terra-Cotta Planters on the Front Porch For Early Summer

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! Today, I'm sharing how I use some of my thrifted find on my 'Front Porch Area for Early Summer'.

As you know from a few of my posts back, I'm always on the hunt for Terra-Cotta planters

Last week I thrifted a few clay pots

All these planters cost me $5.00, maybe?

I've also thrifted a couple of enamel tubs, which are a item that is on my Treasures to look for list.

You cant tell from this picture but I have the green trimmed tub sitting on a brass/copper bucket.

Sitting on top of a bucket is the newly thrift blue enamel tub

I did pick up two packs of small & medium 'Dollar Trees' clay pots for $1.25 each.

As you can see I kept out the wire milk crates and the rusty wire potato basket

I live in zone3-4  our weather right now is not warm enough at night to have annual left out over night.  But I have all my pot setting out waiting till 'Memorial Day' when worry of frost will be over.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see how I used a few thrifted treasures and arranged my front porch area for Early Summer Blooms in a few weeks.

I would love to hear what you have been prepping for Summer with your thrifted treasures and how you style them in your home and garden.

 So until my next post......

Vintage Treasure Hunting at My Local Thrift Store

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad you stopped by!

Today,
I'm so excited to share a shopping haul from my local 'Community Budget Center'.

I was looking through the picture frames and found a pile of vintage scrapbooks, I paid $2.00 a pieces for them. There were also two packs of extra pages for $1.25 each. What a Great! price!

As you know I'm working on getting my family picture printed off my computer to free up some space for my blog picture.

***
I don't normally pick-up clear clear glass, but this little 1930's pressed-cut glass pitcher caught my eye, notice the "Pineapple Fan" design?

I place the cut-glass creamer in the China Hutch

***
I spied a small thermos, it didn't have a price. The clerk didn't charge me for it, so sweet! I stuck the cute little thermos with a few others for Summer Décor.

***
These cool colorful 1960's "Fire-King" bowls I picked-up because of the color to use in my kitchen.

Actually, the Yellow bowl was marked "Anchor Hocking"

Right now I have the bowls on the shelf above the cabinets in the kitchen

***

Then,
I was surprised to find this candy tin for $5.00 the lid does have a dent, but I do like the flower pattern on the side

There is a marking on the bottom- 'Container made in England' 'Art Grace Baret Ware'. I think it would great in a Valentine vignette.

For now I have the cute tin displayed on the vanity in the guest-room.

***
I always take a peek over in the jewelry area, just in case something catches my eye.

Today I spied a necklace with red and silver beads with a tarnished chain. I have a pair of earrings I thrifted that I thought would look nice with this necklace.

***

Lastly,
I found another shelf for $3.50, I'll need to paint it you can't quite tell that this shelf is painted purple. I'm thinking to use it in the computer corner. Check back later to see where I'll be using this shelf.

You may have also saw I found another candy/apothecary jar $2.00, for my daughter.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day, to see what I've been up to,

I would love to hear what you have found out thrifting this week and how you style it in your home.

 So until my next post......

Spring Bulbs - Sunny Warm Day in the Flower Beds

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! Today,

I'm so excited to share my 'Spring Bulbs',  There are peeking out of the soil! I have spotted a few of the 'Daffodil's' bulbs have buds, 'Tulip' are showing their leaves, I'm so excited! Our Winter has been extremely long.

This past week I've been out in the garden when ever the weather permitted pulling grass and rake-up the straw I spread over all the plants in this flower bed.

This is a orange 'Poppy' plant in the back will be blooming in June

These 'Tulip bulbs' were a clearance last year around Easter time, the blooms were dying off.  I think I paid $4.00 a flat of 6 pots I bought 3 flats. Not sure what the colors will be, it will be a surprise!

'Grape Hyacinth' are also showing their color.

***
Today, I was given a couple of dozen, 'Tulip' bulbs from a friend and I added them to the beds on Tuesday.

Their a little droopy, I'm hopping in a day or two they'll perk up. Our temps are still in the low twenty's at night, but day high range from low 50's to high 60's.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what I've been doing this week.

I placed the tall light green vase in a vignettes in my China Hutch -I paid $2.00

The emerald color vase I placed in a cubby -paid $0.00

The adorable ink well I paid up a little for it -$10.00

***
When I spied the Tupperware condiment tray $1.99 and tumbler $1.00, I had to pick it up!
While visiting my Daughter a couple of weeks ago she had mentioned she collected Tupperware. She also said she was looking for these clear glass candy containers, ($1.00 each) for sugar and tea. So I'm shipping this bundle to her.
***

Very cool look cigar Humidor, I look this up couldn't find and exact style, but it may be 1960's or 1970's Humidor It does have a sticker on the bottom (Kaywoodie made in Japan) Paid $7.50

It was added to the shelving that houses my Tobacco Paraphernalia collection.
***
You know my infatuation with cookies cutter and Jello mold could not pass these treasure up!
I paid $1.00 each and the heart and oval cutters were stamped Germany
Their going into the star colander along with the cute Jello molds

I paid $3.00 for the pack of Jello molds or $1.00 each.
Cute little aluminum Hen cookie cutter

The red handled scissor were $3.00 they had KITCHEN stamped on the blade.
The green aluminum lids and the two canner racks

Look great on the shelf above my kitchen cabinets and adds another layer.

***

Lastly,
I picked up the Doll book because I do have two dolls that have been past down from my Great Aunt Jessi.

I thought this picture look similar to the taller doll I have. I did find out my dolls are from Germany

***
Oh! I forgot about this enamel wash pan I've been watching for over a couple of years the tag had a price of $40.00!

this day I looked at the tag and all you could see was the '4', so I took a chance...
When I got ready to pay for this tub the clerk said you know this is priced at $40.00

I said it's been around a while, so he offer $20.00 and I agreed.
I'm not sure if it's really vintage, but I'll be using this tub in my yard for the potted plants.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to
stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.
