Happy Fall! Rearranging the Mantel

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!
Today, I'm changing up the Mantel using
yellows, oranges, greens and a touch of white.

I thought my vintage green metal tackle boxes would look great on the mantel to hold the apple and a few vases filled with a few dried sunflowers and faux florals.

I also placed my newly found Fire King coffee mugs, at a yard sale this Summer, filled them with crab-apple from my yard.

I love how a few of my vintage emerald green and milk glass vase look in the mix, a vintage chalk-board, dried sun flower also from my yard this year.
***
I got the inspiration for adding corn stalk leaves and corn husk to the mantel from a wonderful blogger Brooke Johnson. She also has a you-tube channel with the same name.

I made this sunflower swag with twig from the yard and a bundle of faux florals, plus a bunch of corn stalk leaves from my garden and tied then together. I love how the swag turned out.

The picture frame is a new item and I printed out a picture of a sunflower from my yard this year. pick apple in the green mug

I just love how the mantel came together using my thrifted treasures and adding a few of touches of nature.
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.

I would love to hear how you'll be decorating for Fall in your home this season.

Fall Swag Using Natural Elements for Mid-Autumn

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I was able to gather a few items to make a Fall swag

I'm using some corn stalk leaves, bits of tree limbs from my garden and faux flowers from my crafting supplies.
This seemed to be a pretty easy DIY, that took about 10 minutes, once I had all of the items I wanted to use together, then it was bundling like items together.

My Little Colorado Cottage

Step #1 - bundled the twigs

Step #2 - added corn stalk leaves

Step #3 - I made a little bundle of the faux flowers
Step #4 - attached it to the branch bundle

with this swag I used a shade of orange sunflower and attached to a window frame in my entry room.

This yellow sunflower swag I placed on the window frame over my mantel

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what I have been doing this weekend.

I would love to hear what you have found thrifting or what your ideas for decorating for Fall.

 So until my next post......

I Found Some Christmas Decorations.... PLUS ......a Fun Find! Box of 1950's - 1970 Ephemera - Yard Sale Weekend

Hi Friends,
 I'm so glad your here!
Today, I'm so excited to share Christmas Decor! I found out yard selling this weekend.

All Christmas items for $5.00!

There were 4 or 5 cases of 1 1/2" or 2" multiple color ornaments!
I've accumulated so many ornaments in the past year out thrifting, I didn't think I needed any more!

However, I've gotten into making vintage inspired assemblages for the holidays, so I can justify buying 3 boxes, RIGHT?
***
-Christmas Jingle Bells-

I've been collecting little brass bells to make a Brass Christmas Bell Wreath for some time... for the prices I couldn't pass over the Jingle Bells.
***

-Red Faux Velvet Christmas Bows with Little Bells-

For crafting or to add to Christmas presents.
I thought the Holly Tin will look great as a riser in a Christmas vignette later this year.
***

-Christmas Crafting-

Faux Satin ornaments are great for crafting along with the confetti Santa's for assemblage's
the Santa Garland was interesting. I'll probably cut out individual Santa's to make stickers or adorn Christmas presents.
***

-Ephemera!-

If you remember a month ago I stopped by this 'once a month' yard sale and only bought 2 magazines for $2.00 each.

As you can see the box of Mechanic Illustrated Magazines was still there.
Got got the box of 65 magazines for $25.00.
Tobacco advertisement's that I'm thinking I may frame and add to my vintage tobacco collection
I think this was a good bargain.

-For a Collection-

older green/blue mason jar for $5.00 will go into the Ball Jar collection.
