Thrifting for Vintage Cottage Treasures

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a thrift haul from my local "Community Budget Center".

The store has been very sparse lately, I think they are doing some 'Spring Cleaning'!
***

As you can see I did bring home a few treasures.....
***
Everyone can always use more Hand Crocheted Doilies, for $0.25 each! RIGHT?
***

Love how this new doily with yellow crochet roses looks in the 'China Hutch'
***

I couldn't pass up the pair of green hot pads, they will looks great with my seasonal décor.
***

I use red in my kitchen year round so I also picked up the cool red and white hand crocheted hot pad
***

and of course the blue doilies will be used in my Patriotic or Summer vignettes.

I can use the white doilies now throughout my cottage décor.
***

In the games area of the thrift store, I founded seven Packs of 'Casino Play Cards' for $0.50 a pack, thought they would be cool to use in some of my 'Winter Game' vignettes.
***
I'm displaying the group of cards on this shelf in my Den.
***

I was surprised to find another 'Mallard Duck Glass Tumbler' at $0.00, so now it looks like I'm starting another COLLECTION!

***

I did bring home the 'Souvenir Cedar Trinket Box' for $2.50 I just don't see these much anymore and there great to house my small collections.
I put a collection of 'Wooden Nickel's and Advertising Coins'.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.

I would love to hear what you have found thrifting and how you style it in your home.

 So until my next post......

May God Bless You and Your Family. I'm Vicki a Colorado Junkett

  2. Oh, I enjoyed seeing your treasures. I would have grabbed the doilies and pot holders, too. I often use small doilies for dollhouse tablecloths and that little cedar chest would make a great attic trunk! My grandmother used to sugar starch her doilies so that the flower petals or 3D loops stood up for YEARS! I settle for spray starch and stretching the flower petals after I iron them!!!

    1. Thank you Kathy for stopping by. Thank you for giving me some inspiration on how to starch the flower doilies. I'll give it a try.
