I Found Some Awesome Vintage Treasures! - Weekend Yard Sale

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! I went to a yardsale this weekend and just wanted to share what I found.
***
I actually found many items to expand a few of my vintage collections, but today I want to share a great find!

'White Ceramic Hen Napkin Holder with egg shaped Salt and Pepper Shakers' ($3.00)

I'm not sure if this one is newer there is no markings and the shakers have plastic stoppers

You all know I pick-up 1940-1950's Hens/Roosters when I find them at a reasonable price.
***
I do have a vintage 1960's Hen Napkin Holder without the Egg Shakers.
It has a mark on the bottom...

It's a slight larger...
Similar feather details...
What do you think?
I have styled the Hens in the Kitchen above my cabinets.

***
I also found these plate holders in a box of miscellanous items. The gentleman threw the large plate holders in for free!, I'll be putting them in my stash for later use. This measured for a plate close to 12"

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.
***
I would love to hear what you have found thrifting and how you style it in your home.

 So until my next post......

Looking for Vintage Treasures - Weekend Thrifting

Hi Friends, I'm so glad you stopped by the cottage!

I'm so excited to share a few fun treasure I found at my local Community Budget Center on half price day.
***
I bought a few books as you can see for 50 cent each.......

1st book - "The Holy Bible" is a few years old
very pretty inside section for recording inportant family milestones

a beautiful picture representing 'Jacob's Ladder'

some fun vintage epemera pieces were also found in the pages

2nd book - "Nancy Drew" were the go to mystery read, when I was in Junior High. I read every book the library had.

"The Haunted Bridge" found a home with a very small collection of Nancy Drew Mysteries, I have.

3rd book - "Baptist Hymnal"

I've been looking for vintage Hymnal
to use for crafting and I have found two so far this year.

***
I was kind of a funny surprise to see the prices on the vintage insulators .....
the larger insulator was priced at $5.00 as is with a good size chip on the bottom.

I didn't mind because I'm adding them on my fence post in the back yard.
***
Lastly,
I found a vintage glass decanter.

Not long ago, decanters use to be fruitful at the thrift stores, but once I've been on the hunt for reasonably priced decanter, there hard to come by.

I'm hoping in the near future I'll be able to share an up cycle cabinet I brought home a few years ago

Small Haul from 'My Local Vintage/Thrift Store' - Weekend Thrifting

Hi Friends, I'm so glad your here!

Today, stopped by my Local Vintage Thrift , They have a few new pieces of furniture, way out of my price range. However, I did find a couple of great treasures!
***
The first, is this  1920-1930 wooden vintage frame by Eastom Kodak $12.00 with an adorable little girls picture is dated 1935
***
I also carried this treasure around for a while, the price was $7.50. I thought it might be a Pipe Rest or Ashtray,
but once I got it home and cleaned it up a bit, I believe it is a Sears Roebuck and Co. Kitchy Earthtone Ceramic Spoon-Rest, maybe from the 70's?
I believe that means it is Vintage, Right?

I've placed the vintage spoon rest in a vignette on a shelf in the Familyroom.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.

Hi Friends,

First,
I want to show you these cute shakers I paid $1.00 each, as you know I like collecting vintage shakers.

Searching Google, I was not able to find to much information about these adorable shakers.
I think they were made in the 1960's, a few of the sets are marked 'Japan'.
***
Next,
Two interesting Books...

a "King James Holy Bible" which is always nice to have a back-up.

and "Western Yesterdays Series" -
this particular book has stories of the old west, I think it will be a good read.
***
This adorable 1950's "Thames" piece, hand  painted Bible verse (John 15:13) with the cute Cherub figurine, was also in the shakers box $1.00. I will be giving this cute piece to a friend.

A few vintage games-

1976 'Scrabble' board game
1949 Parker Brothers 'Clue' board game
1974 Deluxe Whitman Bingo game box
