It's Starting to Look a Little Christmassy in the Kitchen

 Hi Friends,

Today I'm excited to share how I'm decorating my kitchen for Christmas.  My though process is Christmassy, sparkly, silver sparkle, red poinsettias.

In my Christmas tubs I found the very thin vintage tinsels.

I just added red poinsettias to the tinsels and look how great it turned out with some of my vintage containers.

I'm super happy how everything turned out.

So glad you stopped by,
May God bless you and your family.

Vintage Christmas Tinsel all Around

Hi Friends,

I really enjoy decorating for Christmas, I kind of went  over board with the tinsel and glitter this year.  I had a bunch of vintage tinsel I found in one of my Christmas tubs, so I strung it all around the house. I think because our winters are cold, long and dreary, did I say cold?

Thank you for stopping by, and checking out what I am up to.

God bless you and your family.

above my entertainment center turn hutch I have strung green sparkly tinsel

A corner of the living room I have a little vignette of Santa

This year I'm using red poinsettias' as the flower of the month

It doesn't seem like a lot this year, but like I said we will be going to visit our kids this Christmas

Vintage November Décor

Hi Friends,

I really enjoy decorating for Thanksgiving, I kind of go over board with fall color, I think because our winters here in the NW are cold, dreary and did I say cold?

This ceramic cornucopia I thrifted many years ago.  I have added old Indian corn that I also found thrifting, then I have purchased pumpkins and fall leaves and have collected the pine cones to fill in the ceramic cornucopia.

I have added fall leaves and pip berries to a few of the vintage finds I display above my kitchen cabinets.

Fall flower and pip berries arranged in a wooden whiskey box.

Another cornucopia with fall flowers I am not usually into sparkle or shiny but this year I used a few of the bronze flowers in this arrangement.

Here is a basket filled with pine corns sitting next to the fireplace hearth. (Side note: I'm always collecting pine cones.)

Another thrifted basket I use in my décor throughout the year filled with more purchased fall flowers

I love putting out turkeys I have only two would love to find more vintage turkeys.

Here is a California prune box I thrifted a few years back it sits on top of a kitchen cabinet year round. I just change it out seasonally.

A thrifted basket with this adorable fall liner.

Here is the other turkey figure this is a planter.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I have been up to.

So until next time I'm Vicki a Colorado Junkett

small county fairs

image
This is the last weekend of our county fair as I walked through some of the exhibits were amazing! All the long hours and hard work that the exhibitor put into their project diffidently, paid off for the exhibitors.

2012 August Celebrations

022

Oh the Doggy Days of Summer!  Who thought up that saying any way..?

August is Friendship month

August 1st – Full Moon

1st week of August you can celebrate “Clown week”

August 3rd – Watermelon Day

August 12th – 13th Meteor Showers

August 20th – 1st day of college for me

August 25th – I’ll need to get a birthday card out to my Dad

August 27th – kids go back to school

August 31st – second Full Moon (Blue Moon)

The month of August is a pretty laid back month for me, however here in my neck of the woods there will be lots going on

1st of August through the 12th  with the Moffat County Fair.

Now that we all have a little bit of a breather before Labor Day the Official holiday, that says that the summer is over and get back to routines.

How are you spending the rest of the summer?

Have a Great Day!

Still trying to find the best plan to concur the paper piles?

I don’t want to say it out loud, but………..WHAT’S with the humidity?   I live in NW Colorado where it’s DRY.
Oh well, gives me a chance to stay inside and work on some of my piles of paper.  Don’t know if I mention it or not, but I always have a stack of magazine/newspaper clippings of project ideas or places  I want to visit, notes of important things like phone numbers birthdays I feel I need to remember, etc.
I am a visual person and I’ve tried several ideas in the past unfortunately, I’m still trying to figure out the best plan to concur the paper piles.
Have a Great Day!

A Thrifted bucket as a planted

Someone had mentioned they had a Junk Garden I thought it was fabulous I've just started my flower garden this is my 3rd year
In the past I have use a few different vessels to plant in.  This is a gold panning pan
An old child's Red Radio Flyer wagon I picked up some where for cheap, cuz I do not usually pay full price
for anything.
This is a hand made fishing pole and a fish krewl that I have planted purple petunias

Rain? What you taking about?

I have been watering my potted plant every day this summer, you all know how dry it has been.  Our local weather man has been teasing us with the possibility of rain for a couple of weeks now.

Oh yeah the wind comes up and the clouds gather and darken and the they move east which the eastern slope which is good I guess, because they really need the rain, but not the wing, because of all the fires.

Some one was doing the rain dance this weekend we actually got some afternoon rain showers. It’s been raining off an on for two days now which is great, but the fire ban in my area is still in affect.

On the positive side my potted plant are looking fabulace!

Have a Great Day!
