Vintage Wreath Very Simple Diy - Using Vintage Tinsel Garland

Hi Dear Friends,

I have a few spare minutes today and I trying franticly to get all of my Christmas décor out.

I started with a piece of light weight card board from a back of a spiral note book, I was thinking a small wreath about 12' round. I drew a circle with about a inch width, just kind of eye balled it and cut the circle out.

Dug out a length of tinsel from the tub and started gluing the garland around the card board shape

Then I just wrapped the vintage tinsel carefully around the circle shape to fill in any gaps

Thank you so much for checking in to see how my diy vintage tinsel garland wreath turned out.

As you saw my thumb nail I hung the tinsel wreath on a large tobacco basket on top of my salt and pepper cabinet.

Christmas Gifts From My Kitchen - Baking Day

 Hello Friends,

Today, I'm pulling out the Christmas cookies recipe cards. This is one of many traditions that my family will enjoy through this holiday season.

First on the list is this very easy pretzel chocolate/ caramel bite.  Melt a little white chocolate and then dip pretzel sandwich in white chocolate then colorful sprinkles.

Who doesn't like Oatmeal Raisin cookies?
This recipe is a family favorite any time of the week from my all time favorite Betty Crocker Cookbook. For Christmas I sprinkled red and green sugar sprinkles on each cookie.

Peanut Butter Blossoms is a family favorite that get baked up at least once a month at my house, also recipe from Betty Crocker Cookbook.

Lastly, my husband makes the best chocolate chip cookies using Nestle Toll House original chocolate chip recipe, that every one loves.

I've gathered all the cookies that we made today and put them into these very cute tins that I lined with a Christmas napkin. I purchase these tins from my grandkids school fundraiser this fall.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to start baking some special treats for your family and friends.

May God Bless You and Your Family,

Getting a Live Christmas Tree-

Hi Friends,

Today I'm decorating a live tree.  This is a tradition that my family really enjoys and we  try to follow through with this tradition every year.

My sweet husband gets out the Christmas light and string them on the tree then it's time to put on the ornaments.

This sing Angel tree topper has been in my husband family for many years, and we place it on top the living room tree every year.

Our tree is a family tree with collected ornaments, our kids ornament from school.

Now, our Grandkids ornament. I might say this tree is a "Hodge Podge", of memories.

Thank you, for stopping by my blog to see what I have been up to.

May God Bless You and Your Family during this most wonderful time of year.

3 Christmas Vignette - Just a few Vignettes I love setting up this Time of Year

 Hi Friends,

I've got out another tub with some our favorite Christmas collections. Today I'm setting up three vignettes that I set up every year.  And also added to them when I come across missing pieces.

The first vignette is probably my favorite.  'Santa's Misfit Toy's', vignette based on the movie "Rudolf  the Red Nose Reindeer", it's one of the many must watch Christmas  movies, that I do with my kids and grandkids.

The lighted tree I purchased at a home décor party back in the eighties.  The figurines, some vintage-some not, I have collected over the years and add to this beloved vignette.

Another collection I like to set up each year is a little village in the snowy woods, with ceramic houses that have found at Walmart, sold as a craft project back when. I have been collecting large bottle brush tree to make the woods.

This year I found a red rimmed tray while thrifting, of course, and decided it would work great to house a vintage nativity set that I have had for many years.  I covered the bottom with green tissue paper and arranged the figurines for this cute vignette.

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out some of my Christmas vignettes.

May God Bless you and your Family during this wonderful time of year!

Vintage Christmas on the Mantel

Hi Friends

Today I have another Christmas tub I'm digging into to fill up the fireplace mantel in the den.

I love these mercury glass beads I've had these for a very long time I believe they were in a box of Christmas items I had bid on at a auction.

The wooden children block I scored at my local thrift a couple of years ago I was so excited when I found a gallon bag full! I believe I paid $3.50?

I have always loved brass candle stick and I found two this year to add to the collection.

Here is the vintage Rosbro red hard plastic candy container from the 1960's I believe.

And last but not least is these beautiful angels I found all of them at a yard sale back in April, one of the angels had a made in Japan sticker. When I got home, I looked them up and they are Stockinette Christmas angel from the 1960's. I think they are adorable.

I hope you enjoyed some of the wonderful treasure I have collected this past year. Thank you much for stopping by.

May God Bless You and Your Family during this Special time of year.

A Vintage Christmas Collection - Wooden Ornaments

 Hi Friends,

Today I'm pulling out a Christmas tub that has my collection of little wooden ornaments, that I ordered from an Company Import add, in the Parade insert in my Sunday morning newspaper, back in the early 80's.

It was then I started picking up these wooden ornaments when I find them.  At an auction I came across this white synthetic tree from Pottery Barn I was thrilled.

Over the years, I have added more small wooden and small mercury glass ornaments and bells to fill in this tree.

I also, found a little battery operated train with a battery operated engine and three cars at a a drug store called Buy and Save, and have been placing the and track up every year.  Unfortunely I have lost the engine to it.  This year I found another train set to place around this special tree.

The track is slightly to big I made need to find a different place for this tree next year.

Thank you for stopping in to see some of of my collections I bring out for Christmas.

May God Bless You and Your Family this Christmas Season!

Vintage Santa's Collection

 Hi Friends,

I found the tub with my vintage Santa's, so today I'm decorating the top of my hutch with my ever growing collection.

I have been collecting Santa's for many years at least 30, I'm guessing.

I pick up older Santa's when I see them.  This year I believe I found four this summer thrifting.

Here is the Mrs. Clause That I picked up at the local thrift store for $1.50

In this picture are the bubbling light strand I found at a yard sale this summer for $4.00 they had two boxes and they work kind of it hard to get the light up right so it will bubble.

In this picture the little Santa in the tree is new to me I believe I paid $1.00 for it and the ceramic Santa blowing a horn.

In this photo at the bottom left corner a new standing Santa and a cute Mrs. Clause with a imprint that says Japan.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my Santa collection.

Christmas Vintage-Farmhouse-Rustic Thrift Haul

 Hi Friends,

I went shopping again after work and look what I found.

A county Christmas

Guess what? ...  I wasn't really looking for clothing today, but I came across this beautiful red sweater for only $4.00. Guess what, it was in my size! I couldn't believe it!

I picked up a box of Holly glass ornaments for $1.50, the box is kind of beat up but their were 11 ornament in this box, so less than $.25 a piece.

I didn't think was a bad price for American made glass ornaments.

This box has a bit smaller ornament, plus a few more if the box was complete.   However, for $1.50 I was able to savage 12 glass ornaments made in the USA.

Bells, Bells, Bells I really wasn't thinking about using Christmas bells in my décor this year, however I just kept finding some. lol!

The bells on the red strap is the second of this kind that I have found, pretty excited about that.  I also the the bell wreath, it will look nice hanging from one of my window frames, I do believe.

I also picked up a bag of bottle brush trees, for $.25. I have seen all over social media many ways to display using these little bottle brush trees.

I was thinking, I have some child building blocks and thread spools, maybe I could add the trees to them.

For $.50 I thought I could definitely use this red trimmed napkin with the pretty poinsettias, as a table scarf.

Some glass Christmas ornaments for $.75, that I had to pick up.

I found this cute red boot $.30.  I had to look it up to find out when it was made. What I found was that this little boot was made by Rosbro, and was filled with candy back in the day.  I'll probably add a bottle brush tree to this cute boot.

The angel candle holder had some great patina to it, I paid $.75.  I went to google to find a manufacture and learned a little more about it, even though the angel looks like pewter or brush metal, it's actually made from brass in Hong Kong.  Who knew?

Best find today was this Mrs. Clause carrying a bag and candy cane, I'm super excited to find this treasure.

For $1.50, who could pass up this gem!

It is stamped Japan.

Super Cute!

Thank you for stopping by to check out my haul.

My God Bless You and Your Family.
