Winter Décor - A Few DIY Trees

Hi Friends,

Today,  I'm so excited to share a very simple DIY. I'm making a few cute little trees to add to my Winter décor from thrifted garland.

Last July I thrifted a few boxes of Christmas Treasures for $2.00 each, one of the boxes was filled with green garland.

My idea was to cut up the garland in varies lengths from 3' -5'.

I had a package of bamboo skewers in my stash
So using Aleene's Tacky G
glue, I applied the glue onto the skewer and attached the garland strip. At my first attempt

I didn't realize the skewer should have been painted, as you can see the skewer didn't get completely covered.

I did use kids play-dough I had in the house to use as a base, but I think I'll change it out with some other style possibly a wooden spools.

I did end up putting a little white acrylic paint on some of the trees and placed them in vignettes in the Family-room/Den

1st-treasure are Children's Alphabet Blocks!

These wooden blocks were also stamped with numbers and animal prints

There was a total of 26 letter blocks in the tin.

A Few More Thrifted Vintage Christmas Treasures to Share

Hi Friends,

This week, I'm slowly getting my Christmas tubs out of the crawl space, to pack the Christmas table linens, wrapping paper, plate and glasses, items like that.

I generally wait a week after New Years to pack up all of the rest of Christmas décor and transition into January-Winter décor.

*****

Today, I realized I have a few vignettes in my Family- room/Den, that I notice I have not shown you all.

*****

This vignette is in a corner of the Den near a window a little bit of a angel hair fern hangs.

As you can see, I just added some greenery red berries, one of my Santa's a few Christmas tree pewter molds, mercury glass bead picks to the vintage bottle grouping and I love adding strips of fabric to the bottles, lastly a very cute ceramic candle from Step-son, back in the 80's.

(to the décor that live here most of the time-so-to-speak.)

Same corner of the Den see the fern and my Fall blooming Christmas Cactus

- a thrifted wooden seed box from a couple of years ago I added greenery, red berries, Santa tin, a few more mercury glass bead picks sticking out of the thrifted oil can, and two of the vintage bottle brush trees I thrifted in July.

Over on the Red Shelves

A few more mercury glass bead picks (I only have about 15-16 picks so I spread them out this season), added another vintage Santa, greenery, red berries, the caroler was a thrift find last year 2021.

A small  Santa in his sleigh of package being pulled by two thrifted deer, along with a few of my amber bottles I added greenery, red berries, white pip berries.  I added the newly thrifted glass ornaments from the 70's

Looking for Vintage Treasures - Friday Thrift Haul

 Hi Friends,

Looking for thrifted treasures

Today I'm sharing a few treasures I found out thrifting.

  OH MY!

You know I can't seem to pass up on grabs bags

This is what was in the grab bag vintage 60's? plastic floral I can not believe what all I have picked up this year!

It's great for my outdoor décor.

I'm using the felt poinsettia's on the vanity in the guest room

The other flowers will be put in the tub with the rest of the outdoor Christmas décor for next Christmas

*****

I saw the plaid apron and thought I could use the fabric for something

*****
Look at this super super cute hand made felt stocking not sure how vintage it is but it looks vintage so cute

*****

The basket was considered Christmas so I brought it home, I think I'll use it in my Spring décor

I did cleaned up the basket so it will be ready to use

*****

I liked this plate for $.50, a old time church I think it will be great in my Christmas décor, or maybe Easter décor......
 the possibilities are endless.

I place the plate on the shelf with the Last Supper plaque

*****
As you know... cookie cutters are my weakness,

as I entered my local community thrift store there on the right inside of the door was a table of Vintage Cookie Cutter - $.25 each! a few I hadn't seen before

I couldn't pass by these cookie cutters two cute Angels, Baby Jesus in a manger, a Shepard and Lamb, Cupid, a little Teddy Bear, and a few aluminum cutters

*****

I brought home this cool plate, because of the log cabin on it I thought it would look great in my 'Winter Décor' next month.
I went ahead and moved a few of my chickens elsewhere to make room for the cool cabin plate

*****

I had been eyeing the round gold ornament for a while, they have 'winter cabin scene' inlaid, very nice.

*****

Santa candle isn't vintage I don't think but he looks great setting here on the Milk Glass shelf.

The handmade clay snowman will be in my Winter Décor so stay tune.......
*****

Grab bag of cookie cutters a few I already have in my stash of cookie cutters, the 5 lighter red Or pink cutters I haven't seen before. Look at the two tin cutter a little mule and owl, so cute

and who doesn't need Christmas socks?
*****

I put this cute wreath in my cart because I was thinking Grapevine wreaths are great to have in my stash.

The more I look at the Angel crafted on the wreath I may leave it as is.

I have the wreath hanging on the guest room door

*****

My local Thrift Store was pretty sparse for home décor, but I think I found some cool Vintage Christmas treasure to add to my décor next Christmas.

Did you have a favorite?  I think mine was the felt stocking and the gold ornaments.

Thank you so much for stopping by.... so until the next post.
May God Bless You and Your Family in the New Year!
