Autumn is Here - Decorate The Mantel With Me!

 Hi Friends,

The last couple of days I have been putting away summer décor, and thinking about my October displays.

I have pulled out the fall bins.  Kept out some of the orangey red sunflowers and pip berries and thrifted glass jugs.

my focus is the beautiful flying geese pewter tray on the mantel this Fall.

DIY hanger idea

I've kept the willow wreaths to be hung up next to the window frame

The vintage oval picture frame I paid a $1.00 at a local vintage/thrift store.  The print I found at Graphic Fairy free sunflower prints.

I went back and added more floral to the vases

A few pip berries poppy pods

Made it my own-Dollar Tree Scarecrow pick.

I used some fabric from a haul last month to make clothing for these cute little scarecrows added a little more stuffing and embellishment to make them my own.

What do you think?

I kept the buffalo check garland and added a DT leaf color garland- yellow, green, red, orange

Fall memories growing up in the mid-west was the time to collect bitter-sweet, that grew on the fence line out on a country roads, our family would take a drive Saturday afternoon and pick wild bitter-sweet.

in those days my mother also pick cattails for display. Now cattails are protected in my area.

Final touch is a spray for the top of the widow frame, I just use some twig and stems of red, orange, yellow-bitter sweet and use strips of cotton fabric to attach the sprig to the window frame

Let me know what you think? I'm I missing something?

Thank you so much for stopping by, I try and post every week with fun projects, thrift hauls or just enhancing my home décor for the seasons.

So.... until next time...........

Late-Summer Vignettes- One Last Look at Thrifted Vintage Treasure

 Hi Friends,

Today is overcast, the outside temperatures are cooling down, it's getting closer to Autumn, I just want to give a last view of some of the great thrifted treasure I found in the month of August and September and how I've incorporated the awesome items into my home.

In the family room on the red shelves a very cool  rusty bucket with lid and a handle! I think the bucket looks great on the shelf with a few other thrifted items and the DIY Felt Crow.

Vintage Glass Insulator Project for My Garden Area

 Hi Friends,

For many years I have wanted to have a insulator pole in my garden area, so I have been collecting vintage glass insulators for a while.  If you remember a week or so ago, while thrifting, I found a box of insulators with wooden pole mount at a yard sale and the price was great!

Today is the day to get this vintage glass insulator project done. I started with the random 4x4 pole among the raspberry bushes.

Mr. Wonderful bought a drill bit the size I needed to drill the holes for the metal mounts. I didn't get the exact angle every time, but, I think it works.

I'm thinking I need one more to make an uneven number...

Let me know what you think. I love it and I'm glad I've got this project done

Let me know what you think. To me it looks a little lope-sided.

The next 4x4 was fence pole Mr. Wonderful had to replace a year or two ago, I mention I could use it for a project and now I'm getting to it. lol

I nestled the 4x4 pole in my garden area.

What do you think? I totally love the poles.

Thank you for spending a little time checking out what I have been doing here at "My little Colorado cottage"

So, until next week.......
