Hunting for Vintage Treasures

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share my Friday Thrift Haul!

1st treasures is this 'Bingo Game'

I've been seeing on Instagram, other vintage collectors are using Bingo cards in there vignettes, so when I saw this Bingo box I was really happy for $2.50. The box has 50 cards so I think there are plenty of cards so one or two cards wont mess with game. The cards are blue, so I think I'll be using them in my Summer vignettes.

*****

Next, I spied the blue glazed artisan pottery bowl for $1.50, that would look great in my Patriotic corner shelf.
*****

When vintage shopping I always have my list of treasure I'm looking for but, I was also hoping to find a few green treasure to add to my March theme... this cute hankie with a 'L' screams ' Saint Patrick's Day!

I added the new $2.00 Hankie in the China Hutch with a few other treasure I had found.

***
I cruised the mug, glass, and plate isle and I picked up the coke glass for $2.00, ( I know it's not vintage) but, I can use it in my small Cocoa-Cola collection
*****

I also thought this vintage looking mug for $1.50, would look great here on the kitchen shelf.

*****

I thought this "Libby" Mallard Duck Hi Ball tumbler was interesting for $.75, so brought it home and nestled it in with my other bird glasses and along with

a set of Endangered Wildlife coasters $1.50

*****

Lastly, I saw this little souvenir doll in a locked cabinet last week as I was checking out, but for $2.50 I wanted to look it up before I brought it home.  All I could find was it late 1940 to 1950 sleepy eye, a Finland souvenir doll.

I have been finding quite a few little dolls, I need to find a better place to display them.

Vintage-Inspired Seasonal Decoration for the Month of March

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a few cubbies on the hutch in my entry room.

I've changed the cubbies on the hutch to add a little bit more interest, by shopping my home and finding some of my treasures that might go together in a vignette.
***

Before, I was grouping my collection of Milk Glass, Green Bottles and Vases together in these cubbies.

This week I started mixing colored glass, pine cones, pewter, aluminum and a couple of books from other places around my home.
***

I also started adding in some of my seasonal handmade items for the month of March.

Card Board Shamrock DIY

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see how I'm incorporating 'Seasonal Decorationfor the month of March this week.
***

Did you notice? I put backing on the hutch using faux tiles and poster board from 'Dollar Tree', a fairly simple project I did last weekend, I'm loving it I think I'll be painting it maybe copper.
***

I would love to hear if you decorate for Saint Patrick's or for Spring in your home for March.

 So until my next post......

A Few Vintage Vignettes With a Splash of Green

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

***

March is fast approaching, I felt I needed to dig out my March tub this weekend to look over what I had to add to a couple of my vignettes in the Den.

***

Today, I'm excited to share  some of my  Handmade Shamrock's that I added to a couple of areas in my Den.

***

Here on a end table in the Den I made a vignette, of a thrifted saucer, a Emerald green tea cup, along with a thrifted brass candle stick holder.

Over on a shelf in the den, I just added a handmade paper medallion and a few felt handmade shamrocks.

On my red shelf area I placed my handmade  felt shamrocks.

***
And a super awesome salt shamrock framed art piece, my grand daughter made in preschool a few years ago was added to this grouping.

A few more handmade shamrocks and a printed post   card print from Graphic Fairy

*****
I'm very happy how these vignettes in my Den turned out what, what don you think?

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what project I've been doing this weekend.

***

I would love to hear what you have projects or  thrifting treasure you have found this weekend.

Vintage/Thrift Consignment Store - Looking for Vintage Treasures

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share thrifting, at my local 'Vintage/Thrift Consignment Store'.  The store had a few new treasures, however were marked up out of my price range.

*****

In a corner of my Den/Family room, I have a bookcase full of games for those stay inside days of Winter.

While shopping Saturday I happen upon this wooden dice cup for $2.00. Watch caught my eye was the brass looking coins imbedded at the base.

*****

As I was checking out I noticed this cutie in the case, the cashier said what about $5.00? I'm not sure if I over paid or not she sure is a cuties and about the same size as the last two Dutch dolls I purchased last time.

This is the back of the cute little doll sitting in her chair. I wasn't able to find a tag or mark on this super cute doll, I paid $5.00.

***

I think I past-up on this small emerald hobnob tooth pick holder last time I visited this store.
***
I'm so glad I took the time to look at it! I think it looks great with a few other emerald pieces I have, I paid $2.50

*****
You may have wondered why I keep bringing home sewing notions.  Well, somewhere in social media, I saw them using embroidery thread spools in vignette to add color.  So that is why I have been picking up these large spools of thread at $.50 or less

*****

The wicker heart wreath, I'm going to take apart and try to stain it a little darker and hang it from a hook some where not sure yet.

I believe I will be using the yellow hand-crochet hot pad in in my April décor.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.

Vintage Thrifting - On the Hunt for a Couple of shelves or cabinets

Hi Friends,
 I'm so glad your here!
***
Today, I'm so excited to share another thrift haul Friday. My mission out shopping today was looking for a couple of shelves or small wall cabinets for the guest room. Unfortunately I did not find any thing like that.

However, I was not disappointed! . . . . . .

I haven't dug through the hankie tub in a while and LOOK what I found!

I used the hankies in my décor mainly in my guess room,

but I think some of these will look nice in my summer vignettes in my China Hutch

***
Here is a better look at the dollies with roses, I was think next year for Valentines, but about mothers day or maybe my June décor. I struggle with June because, I don't use shells, boats, and seagulls in my décor. (I'll need to think about the ideas...)

(I always seem to bring home jewelry, those cute pink earrings were only $1.50)

***

You know me I'm always looking for Vintage Holiday Treasures.

***
I was not disappointed . . . .

I thought the round tin with gold strips ($.50) might work along with the green spool of crochet thread ($.50), and a very darling hankie with a green crochet trim ($2.00).

I'll be using these treasures in my March décor.

(sneak peek)

*****

I was so surprised that my local thrift store, already had a table over flowing with Easter items and of course I had to look it over!

I was super glad I dug through the hankie tub I found two hankies with yellow crochet trim at $2.00 each
On the holiday table I couldn't believe this glass Avon Egg - Mothers Day - 1977  .  Usually, these type of items are in the collectible cabinet

I just couldn't past up these awesome little fuzzy chicks made in china

13 out of 24 for $1.00, they hand a hanger so they may be for a Easter tree. So cute.

***

Well, that's what I found today out thrifting for Vintage Treasures.  What are your plans for decorating for March or for Easter?

***

Ill be showing you how I have incorporated these great treasure I found today in the next few post as I start thinking about decorating for the month of March - Saint Patrick's Day! and Easter in April.

Vintage-Inspired Valentine's Touches to the Mantel

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share my Mantel, I have changed it up a bit and I totally love the new look!

I'm trying to do more layering with with different texture while building my vignettes.

***
I thrifted these gorgeous frames last August and hadn't found a good home for them, until, NOW!

In my eyes this is a rustic vintage cottage look that I love.

*****
I like using metal tones with the red and pink for the month of February.

pewter mugs are one of those treasure I look when out thrifting. This mug is a new find this month.

*****
As you can see, I am using my Vintage-Inspired handmade Valentines card from a couple of years ago.

DIY Valentine Cards

*****

Lastly,
a couple of vintage-inspired Valentine prints from Graphic Fairy

I just embellished the prints with glitter.
