Hi Friends,
I have been slowly making little Easter Vignettes throughout my house decorating for the month of April and for Easter! I hope you will enjoy see some of my collectables and also some old and new DIY's I have added to my April décor.

Here on my front door is the Spring - Easter wreath I made from  "The Dollar Tree: items.

This old window and shelf is right inside my front door.  I think it turned out nicely, the hanging bunny was a March thrift haul items,   a bunch of carrots I made with toilet paper rolls and orange yarn and the little nest is a diy this year.

this vignette is in my living room.  Just a few thrift finds I have collected over the years. My new addition is the little red wooden cart being pulled by a gray bunny I put a little cloth bunny in the cart with a couple of diy eggs. I just this arrangement in my living room.

This shelf was given to me by my granddaughter, she used  part of a pallet and sanded and stained it.  I love this new added piece to my farmhouse décor. I added a few of my chicks and hen in their roost.

This little vignette has bunnies nesting in a Star Tobacco box and hip hopping around.

Happy Spring!

Simple Rustic DIY - How to Age a Fabric Bunny

Hi Friends,

Today, I'm trying to put a little age on this cute fabric bunny. I have had this bunny for almost thirty years and I love it.  However, my décor is rustic farmhouse,

I would like to try to age this cute bunny to fit into                  my rustic farmhouse Easter décor.

So, I put bunny in bucket and used some left over coffee to soak the bunny in, over night.

What do you think?  I'm liking how this cute bunny turned out, lace and all.

A thrifted bunny refreshed, along with a thrifted brass candle stick and a few small painted eggs.

I hope you found some inspiring ideas, for you spring décor.
Thank you for stopping by, if you would like to be notified of my up coming projects you can scribe to receive new post to your inbox.

Spring Break is here! and I have a Spring Farmhouse Project to Finish

Spring Break is Here!

During Spring Break I have a few things I would like to accomplished around the house.

  • Get Spring decor out
  • get laundry caught up
  • vacuum the house thoroughly, lol will see!

Remember the big bag of all size plastic eggs

Painted the plastic eggs with white chalk paint, but as you can see they needed another coat

I ended up with close to 3 dozen from that bag.
I also found two cartons of easy paint Easter eggs on  clearance at Walmart for $1.00 a piece.  I've been working on getting these eggs painted for my Easter décor

The paint I used was Waverly white chalk paint with Ceramcoat - 'Moss Green' and a old bottle of Delta Ceramcoat -Copen Blue.

I ended up painting 6-18 count egg cartons full. Now I have plenty to use around my house for my spring décor

I hope you all had a great week, So until the next project.

Spring $5 Good Will Challenge Put on by Hillary at Old World Home

$5 Goodwill Spring Challenge

I love thrifting when I get a chase, I also follow quite a few You-Tubers that also love a good thrift find. This challenge has arrived for Spring 2018, so I thought I would blog about my $5 thrift store find
In my small town we have an awesome store called the Budget Center, every time I stop in I can find something I didn't know I needed. LOL

What I found was this brass plated bucket with a handle for $2.00

I think I may paint the bucket not sure I do have a few brass plated candle sticks that might look cute paired up with this bucket.

DYI Spring Flag Banner

Spring Flag Banner Tutorial

Here is how I made a Flag Bannerto use on a couple of my old windows and the fireplace mantel.

I had the green checked sheet I have been using for a table cloth  but it needed hemmed up badly, so I use the extra length of the material to make my Spring Flag Banners.

I also have some of the flour sack material I bought at Walmart several years ago to add to the banner.

The flag banners I made real similar to my winter flag banners.  I used green hot glue and hemp twine to attach the fabric pieces to make the spring flag banner.

This is the finished project, I made three, one for each of my old  windows.

I hope you enjoyed this turtorial

Thank you for stopping by !
and have a wonderful Day!

New Vintage looking Diy Easter Wreath for my Home

Easter Greetings

I found this very cute vintage looking greeting sign at Dollar Tree, this year and wanted to incorporated this sign into my farmhouse spring décor.

Using Dollar Tree burlap ribbon, I cut many 4-5 inch strips and tied the burlap strips with brown pipe cleaner to a circular wire wreath form.

Then I added a few strips of green mesh through out the form, also from Dollar Tree

Here I'm trying to fluff the burlap the finished project.

I really like how the vintage looking door wreath turned out.

Hope you enjoyed this easy diy to add to your Spring décor.

March Thrift Finds

March Thrift Store Haul

A big bag of plastic eggs, a small bag of little egg ornament to hang on a tree, a pewter bunny hook and in front is a small bag of  misc bunny tree ornaments.

Here I found glass 2 Avon trinket jar and one  egg shape candle or soap.  The 3 scallop cups not sure what the are, maybe Avon, but I'm going to use them as egg cups,  The little yellow chick is wooden and the little bunny is felt.

A few little bunny items, the two in the front are made of paper the bunny in blue is a puppet the little bunny pushing a wheel barrow is a gift tag..  The two little white bunnies are porcelain, then a real rare wool bunny with a wooden body, a mode podge or oiled fabric bunny  and two wax chick candles, one is in a blue enamel candle cup.

This little bunny pulling a cart is so adorable, I also picked up some seasonal cookie cutters and this green tin handled basket with a Flower and Bee accent.

Thanks for stopping by, and as always have a Great Day!

Decorate With Me - A Very Simple Mantel - With a Few Shamrocks

 Hi Friends,

It's time to dig out my March décor tubs to bring Spring touches to a dreary month here in my neck of the woods of Colorado.  There's still about a foot of snow on the ground and it's cold outside, with my spring décor I try to bring some color into my home.

This year on my mantel, I hung a garland that I made last year, a couple of felt shamrocks I made a while back, I also incorporated my collection of brass candle sticks along with a green depression glass sugar bowl and embellished with white pip berries sprig and eucalyptus stem, a green bud vase that I added white pip berries and a eucalyptus sprig, and in the center a cream color vase from FTD Floral.

Also I have a copy of the Constitutions hanging above.

Until the next project.

May God Bless You, Vicki a Colorado Junkett

Race Day

I always try to find a reason to have a little get together with friends to enjoy good food and games. Opening day of NASCAR RACING sounded like one of those times.  To start off, I  was thinking nacho as main dish.

a bag of tortillas chips 1 pound of ground beef cooked add a taco season packet and a two 16 oz. bags of shredded cheddar cheese and another of nacho cheese mix.  Top with sliced black olives and chopped onion.

Bake at 375 for about 15 minutes.  Add topping of your choice, my were sour cream, fresh salsa, and guacamole. It turned out delicious

And sit back and watch the Daytona 500 and snack out. Can't make a Sunday afternoon any better.

Have a Great Day!

Pigskin Potato Skins

Pigskins Potato Skins

I found this recipe for potato skins from Mary at Home is Where the Boat Is, here is the link.  https://homeiswheretheboatis.net/2015/01/14/pigskin-playoffs-and-potato-skins/  this site is amazing.  Her Photos are wonderful and the recipes are Amazing!

First I lined my egg roll pans with foil, then I cut three small russet potatoes in quarters brushed each wedge with olive oil and placed on the pan.  To represent the New England Patriots I topped the potato wedges with maple bacon cheddar cheese and a drizzle of maple syrup.

To represent the Philadelphia Eagles, I topped the potato wedges with diced green pepper, green onions, and chopped deli roast beef. Last I sprinkled shredded mozzarella cheese on top.  I preheated my oven for 400* and baked the potato wedges for 30 - 45 minutes.

Thank you for stopping by, and do Have a Great Day!
