Vintage Nativity - Hark! The Angels Sings!

 Hi Friends,

Working on the top of the hutch, decided to show off my nativities and vintage thrifted angels from last year.

I also added a new bugle type horn I found at thrift store for $4.00! along with three other thrifted brass French Horns I've had for many years

*****

In a old thrifted wooden picture frame I added 'Hark the Angel Sings' sheet music, that I tea stained then sprinkled gold glitter to add sparkle.

I still had plenty of space and decided to add my 1960's celluloid nativity set also...

the glass angel my wonderful husband bought me last Christmas it lights up, very cool

I also have this thrifted back in the 80's 3-tier carousel windmill, that has a nativity laid-out on the tiers

The little sign I picked-up after Christmas sale at Walmart,

It says it all!

I sure hope you enjoyed seeing the nativities scene I set-up today, and I want to thank-you for visiting my blog.

Please check back by I'm slowing getting all of my Christmas décor displayed.

So .... until my next post,
May God Bless You and Your Family!

Vintage Wooden Ornaments Collection - Setting up the White Tree

 Hi Friends,

Today, I felt the need to set up the white tree I thrifted back in the early 80's, that I normally decorate with my tiny vintage wooden ornaments.

Remember on Fridays haul, I found so many wooden ornaments I just had to get the tree set-up.

*****
all the wooden ornaments I thrifted on Friday look great in this vignette.

These added wooden ornament are quite a bit larger that (I thrifted in a grab bag on Friday) than the ornaments I have collected over the years. I think they look great at the base of the white tree though.

Next year, I may add the larger ornament to my Island of 'Misfit Toy Vignette I display every year.

*****

A few 'Singing Angels' are also from a thrifted grab bag last Friday.

I hope I gave you some inspiration and a few ideas of how to use wooden ornaments you find thrifting at a reasonable price.
Grab bags are a great way to purchase small Christmas items to add to your vintage Christmas décor.

Hey! I'm on a roll so please check back for a few more Christmas vignettes.

Friday Vintage Thrifting -Grab Bags

 Hi Friends,

Stopped in my local 'Community Budget' to see if I could find vintage Christmas...Score!!!

I found a few 'Grab Bags O Ornaments!

*****

The 1st bag I found had a few mercury glass ornaments.....

I saw over at TarnishedTreasures  on You-Tube, she pick these up a couple of days ago!

I just got two in a grab bag, so cool! I paid $.75 for the bag!

added the clip-on peacock ornament and a cute log cabin bulb

****

I paid $1.50 for this grab bag of wooden ornaments, their a bit larger than the wooden ornament I ordered back in the 80's through a catalog.

I'll be adding these cute wooden ornaments to my white tree where I display my collection of wooden toys ornaments....... hopefully this weekend?

*****

I have a couple of these Vintage Santa's, so for $.75 I grabbed this bag for the Santa's picks and tiny mercury glass ornaments.

I added the shiny red bulbs to my green bottles

and my milk glass shelf

I'll be added the two Santa pick to my collection, which
Sorry, I have not gotten out my vintage Santa box yet to display my Santa Collect.....
check back later...
*****

I also found another grab bag of wooden magnets for $1.50, I purchased, because of the 3 vintage celluloid plastic magnets - that looked vintage, Santa, Snowman, and Mouse in stocking, I looked them up and was surprised they were made by J.S.N.Y Hong Kong!

Super Cool!

I'm displaying the magnet on a vintage hot pad I thrifted this summer.

*****

A very interesting grab bag for $1.50 with colorful glass ornaments, I looked them up and their Columbia mercury glass ornaments, not sure if their vintage I could not find any on google, but oh so pretty...

Does any one know? Please leave a comment below. Greatly appreciated!

I have them hanging on a red crackle shelf in the family room, so cool to find this ornaments

*****

I grabbed this $1.50 bag because of the little mushrooms.....

I have seen a few pictures on 'Pinterest and Instagram' lately....

The red and white mushrooms seem to me to be a HOT décor item this year - not sure if their vintage or not ?? or why social media is using these items in their Christmas décor??

*****

I'm looking for mercury glass ornaments, see the two little glass bulbs in this grab bag?.......so that's mainly, why I bought this grab bag!

I'm not sure how I'll display the cute little mushroom yet in my Christmas décor???

If you have any suggestions let me know in the comments below...

*****

Lastly,

I picked-up these two small wreaths - the sparse wreath with pine cones was $.75

the wreath with a few more trinkets little drum, rolled sheet music, and little horns for $2.00

(I pick-up these type of wreaths at a reasonable prices to use all of the embellishment on other projects)

I prefer a more simple wreath

*****

As I was checking out, on a table behind me, I spotted the three cute candles....

Oh My Goodness! I know two of them were Gurley candles, not sure about the little boy with white gown and a red belt, I thrifted these for $1.00 each! Could not believe it!

not sure where I will be displaying these cuties quit yet....
Please stop back by.....

Friday Thrifting - Looking for Vintage Christmas Tins

 Hi Friends,

Thank you for stopping by 'My Little Colorado Cottage' today!

I did stop by my local thrift store Friday...

looking for tins to add a little color on the kitchen shelf.

A blogger I follow, her name is Emily @ My Weathered Home had a wonderful display of tins she had thrifted in a cabinet and some great tips on displaying tins.

I was in luck! I found a few tins!

The green tin I added to the shelf above the kitchen cabinet to give sparkle

*****

The cute little round tin is in a Christmas display with a few thermos and did you notice, I finally found a way to display the vintage suitcases I thrifted this summer.

The Baileys tin I snuggled in among a few crocks

*****
This wonderful square red stripe tin looks great with the red, green, and white stripe candle. Don't you think?

This super cute Santa cylinder that twists  I don't think I have ever seen one.

Also I found these two adorable tins

the cute Mickey and Minnie handled tin will be gifted to my oldest daughter she collects Mickey Mouse items.

This cute hand painted paper Mache round box will find a home some where, not sure yet.

I decided to place this cute round box with the misfit toys

*****

I did find a few more items Christmas items.........

I thought these gold-cone candle holders would look nice with a thrifted greenery ring, or maybe with a few of my sparkly pinecones on a pewter tray with thrifted pip-berries for $.50 each.

*****

  • Of course I'm not going to pass up a box of 14 Christmas cards for a $1.40

*****

  • I'm always on the look-out for handmade hot pads this maroon/cream color hot pad for $1.50. I'll pack it away for my February décor.

*****

  • The red mug $1.50 and a bag of Holly candles $1.50

I made a grouping on the vanity in the guestroom.....
I may find a better place for the mug, but it looks nice in this grouping, so it may stay.

****

In the Crafting/Sewing section, I found a bag with a nearly finished embroidery project with a Red Pin Cushion, for $2.00, did I mention, I have started a new collection?

*****
Lastly, I found this super cute Christmas tree made from a large spring....

Oh my goodness, I've always wanted a few of these springs to use in my décor, I paid $1.75

*****
What a great day to go thrifting, I really found some great things.

Thank you so much for checking out the blog, please check back next week, I'm trying to decorate more areas of my home with my thrifted find and having a great time.

Thrifted Christmas Treasures - Decorate with Me

 Hi Friends,

Today, I'm getting out my Thrifted Christmas Treasure I've found this year and incorporate them into my vintage decorating for the Holiday season!

All year I have been picking-up jiggle bells when I see them

A year or two ago I bought a white tree for a $1.00 at 'Dollar Tree' and today I'll be incorporating the thrifted bells to adorn this white tree.

also, a couple of weeks ago I thrifted a grab bag of very small bottle brush wreaths so I'll be using them also.

cute little plastic Angel

this little wreath had two tiny brass bells and gold twine wrapped around it

Because the white tree is on the high boy in the guest room I dug out these super cute cake or muffin picks I thrifted I think 2020?

a couple more cupcake picks a plastic Santa and a paper angel. In the ironstone dish I have a frosted bell with a glass ball/dinger made in Japan

Cute little tree I think.

Thank you so much for stopping by  'My Little Colorado Cottage', I'm slowly getting out my seasonal décor, so please check back to see how my Christmas home decorations are evolving this season.

May God Bless You and Your Family this Holiday season,
