Shopping for Vintage Treasures for my Home

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a thrift haul from my local Vintage/Thrift store. I totally love every treasure I brought home today.

I passed on these treasures up last time. I thought these beautiful patterned plates, would look nice for Easter or Mother's Day. I paid $2.00 each.

This beautiful embossed plate with a light pink rose transfer had no stamp but I believe it might be made in Germany.

This super cute saucer with the gold trim and flower did not have a stamp on the back, I thought it would be nice to use this saucer in a Saint Patrick's Day or Fall vignette.

*****
Last visit to this Vintage/Thrift store I notice these two Flatware boxes the dark color one was $12.00 and the lighter brown didn't have a price.  I past on them thinking if these boxes are still in the store I'll buy them

The light brown box had red lining and a sticker 'Good Housekeeping Institute'.

The darker wood box had a light blue lining and a W.m. Roger sticker.

I saw on Pinterest how to use these boxes to corral décor vignettes, but for now I'm using them as risers on the hutch.

*****

I saw this cute milk glass pieces also last time I was at this store but wasn't sure I wanted to pay $15.00 for it but because of the uniqueness I did bring it home this time. I paid the asking price (I'm not much of a haggler).

Searching the 'WEB' to get some information about this interesting treasure, I found out it is called Mortar & Pestle and held potpourri made produced in New York by Jean Vivaudou Co. Akro Agate in 1930's. Unfortunately, I did pay high for this piece because it is missing a decal and painted florals.
*****
I picked up these last two plate because, they were very pretty and I think they'll look great in a vignette for March.

New Vintage Dolls For My Collection

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a few new dolls I've added to my doll collection.

small 1940's bisque dolls

I caught the E-Bay Auction Bug last week.

I was on a mission to find "Story Book 'Nancy Ann' Dolls"!

Of course, I want to spent the least amount of money possible. These dolls I paid $3.00 a pieces, because I bought them in a lot of 30 vintage dolls, I have quite a few extra dolls. :)

I'll be showing off some more of the vintage dolls in future post as I find a place to display them.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found this week.

I would love to hear about some of your collections and how you style them in your home.

Vintage thrift

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! Today, I'm so excited to share the treasure I found today!

I had a couple things I past up last time I was at my Local Vintage/Thrift Consignment Shop.

As you can see I found a few more treasures.
I was looking for green items to mix into my March décor. I spotted the green geese for $1.00 and the green square ceramic trinket plate for $.50.

***
Don't the green geese look great with this collection of water foul tumblers?

Also in the China Cabinet I used the large pewter platter I gave $2.00 for in this cute vignette of my Vaseline Glass.  I have two platter now and I love the contrast with my green pieces.

***
I picked-up another vintage rusty door lock for $2.00 and place one of the $2.00 postcard pack of 5 in this vignette.

I'll be using the other postcard in my seasonal through out the year
***
Lastly, The super cool "Miss Buffalo Bill" calendar picture for $1.00 I  placed among my potted plants in the spare room. I'm going to try and research "Miss Buffalo Bill to hopefully find a date.

***
These last two treasure I'll be holding on to for later use.

The red, white, and blue throw I'll be using for Patriotic décor I paid $3.00

This wonder silver-plate casserole caddy I paid $7.50, which I think is a supper high price, however I've been watching on that sterling at the Budget Center and they want $15.00.

I'll be using this tray to corral a couple of vintage books I found on E-bay, when they arrived I'll post a picture.

Vintage-Inspired St Patrick's Day Décor on the Mantel

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share my thoughts for my March Mantel display.

As you can see I'm loving the way my Mantel looks with the picture frames and books, so left them.

My theme for March is Shamrocks, vintage postcard prints, and vintage-inspired Leprechauns.

A few different styles of handmade felt shamrocks I made over the years, to mix into my March décor.

I thought it would be fitting for the month of March to display my small collection of pewter mugs.
Go back a few post to my thrift haul.

Hunting for Vintage Treasures

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share my Friday Thrift Haul!

1st treasures is this 'Bingo Game'

I've been seeing on Instagram, other vintage collectors are using Bingo cards in there vignettes, so when I saw this Bingo box I was really happy for $2.50. The box has 50 cards so I think there are plenty of cards so one or two cards wont mess with game. The cards are blue, so I think I'll be using them in my Summer vignettes.

*****

Next, I spied the blue glazed artisan pottery bowl for $1.50, that would look great in my Patriotic corner shelf.
*****

When vintage shopping I always have my list of treasure I'm looking for but, I was also hoping to find a few green treasure to add to my March theme... this cute hankie with a 'L' screams ' Saint Patrick's Day!

I added the new $2.00 Hankie in the China Hutch with a few other treasure I had found.

***
I cruised the mug, glass, and plate isle and I picked up the coke glass for $2.00, ( I know it's not vintage) but, I can use it in my small Cocoa-Cola collection
*****

I also thought this vintage looking mug for $1.50, would look great here on the kitchen shelf.

*****

I thought this "Libby" Mallard Duck Hi Ball tumbler was interesting for $.75, so brought it home and nestled it in with my other bird glasses and along with

a set of Endangered Wildlife coasters $1.50

*****

Lastly, I saw this little souvenir doll in a locked cabinet last week as I was checking out, but for $2.50 I wanted to look it up before I brought it home.  All I could find was it late 1940 to 1950 sleepy eye, a Finland souvenir doll.

I have been finding quite a few little dolls, I need to find a better place to display them.

Vintage-Inspired Seasonal Decoration for the Month of March

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a few cubbies on the hutch in my entry room.

I've changed the cubbies on the hutch to add a little bit more interest, by shopping my home and finding some of my treasures that might go together in a vignette.
***

Before, I was grouping my collection of Milk Glass, Green Bottles and Vases together in these cubbies.

This week I started mixing colored glass, pine cones, pewter, aluminum and a couple of books from other places around my home.
***

I also started adding in some of my seasonal handmade items for the month of March.

Card Board Shamrock DIY

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see how I'm incorporating 'Seasonal Decorationfor the month of March this week.
***

Did you notice? I put backing on the hutch using faux tiles and poster board from 'Dollar Tree', a fairly simple project I did last weekend, I'm loving it I think I'll be painting it maybe copper.
***

I would love to hear if you decorate for Saint Patrick's or for Spring in your home for March.

A Few Vintage Vignettes With a Splash of Green

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

***

March is fast approaching, I felt I needed to dig out my March tub this weekend to look over what I had to add to a couple of my vignettes in the Den.

***

Today, I'm excited to share  some of my  Handmade Shamrock's that I added to a couple of areas in my Den.

***

Here on a end table in the Den I made a vignette, of a thrifted saucer, a Emerald green tea cup, along with a thrifted brass candle stick holder.

Over on a shelf in the den, I just added a handmade paper medallion and a few felt handmade shamrocks.

On my red shelf area I placed my handmade  felt shamrocks.

***
And a super awesome salt shamrock framed art piece, my grand daughter made in preschool a few years ago was added to this grouping.

A few more handmade shamrocks and a printed post   card print from Graphic Fairy

*****
I'm very happy how these vignettes in my Den turned out what, what don you think?

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what project I've been doing this weekend.

***

I would love to hear what you have projects or  thrifting treasure you have found this weekend.
