Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a small thrift haul from my local 'Community Budget Center'.  I did not find any new vintage items , but I did bring home a few treasures.
***
First,
item was a bag of foam frames to craft,

I thought it would be fun for the Grandkids as a quite time craft.
***
Second treasure,
"The Book of Letters", by Mary Owens Crowther - copyright date of 1924. $1.00

"What Letters to Write for Every Purpose, Business and Social."
***
Chapter X
Telegrams
"The Etiquette of Correspondence"
***
Cost of a letter
***

Chapter Xlll
Stationery, Crests and Monograms
***

Next,
looking through the book section I also found a couple of cook books for me to look through, for $.50

***
A 'BLUE BOOK of Dolls & Value' for $.25, hoping to get more information about the Nancy Ann Dolls I bought on E-Bay in April,
***
for $.25 a magazine 'F4F Wild Cat', my husband is interested in vintage military airplanes, I thought this book would be a Christmas stocking stuffer that he'll enjoy. $.25
***
A fun book to add to my patriotic décor
also, $.25
***
Lastly,
A diary of events from March 20 through June 17,1980. Some very devastating photos, but interesting.

Weekend Thrifting for Vintage Treasures - Rooster Windchime

Hi Friends,
 I'm so glad your here!
This weekend I went thrifting for Vintage Treasures. I didn't find any vintage treasures, but I'm so excited to share a few treasure I did find at my local "Community Thrift' store.

These two Black Planters and Terra-Cotta saucer are a useful treasures, I'm using in the flowerbed.
***

A Rolodex card pack for $.50 was not useful, because the cards are to big. Lol

The cards do have a plastic sleeve so, the cards are going in my craft stash for the Grandkids, they'll have fun crafting with them.
***

You can never go wrong with Pip-Berries at $1.50!

The 4 foot garland needs a little bit of touch-up paint. I'll be taking the garland apart to use as sprigs of pip-berries, in my seasonal vignettes.

***
I thought this Rooster Windchime was very cool!

However I read the price tag as $2.00 it was $8.00!
Lol, I was wondering why my total at checkout was higher then I had figured.
***

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by. My haul today was small, I saw wonderful treasures, but the prices are still very high.

I would love to hear what you have found thrifting are you also seeing higher prices at your thrift store.

 So until my next post......

July Weekend Thrifting for Vintage Treasures

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! I've been spending a lot of time out in the garden, but I did get a chance to hit a few yard sales with my Grandson.

Today, I'm so excited to share what we found!

The 1st stop,
I found 7-Fire King Mugs, in fairly good shape, I paid a $1.00 each. Not a bad price!

I love the colors and will be stashing the mugs away in the buffet until fall.
***
I'm using the Blue Enamel Tin cup on the cocktail cart.
***
Second stop, had some goodies...

I found a wood Pipe Rest with a copper top, for $5.00. You know where this is going.
Now I'm on the hunt for a couple of cool pipes to display on this amazing stand.
***
Another great find,
a box of around 20 - Mechanic Illustrated magazines dated in the 1960's for $2.00 each.

Why I only bought two? I have no idea!, look at the ephemera!
***
Next,
I grabbed this cute Fisher Price Radio/Clock, for my small toy collection, it plays "Hickory Dickory Dock" the front is in good shape, however the printed song on back is missing.
***
Lastly,
I saw two washboards they were real similar one for $10.00 in a little better shape, the one I brought home needed a bit of TLC for $2.00.
Actually it was coming apart the tin piece wasn't attached on one side, so the Gentleman just gave it me.
When I got home, I glued the tin into the groove and used a clamp to pull the side tight until the glue set.

National Washboard Co.
I can't wait to get started on my laundry area project.
***
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week. Like I said the haul is small this week, but I think I found some great treasure

Patriotic 'Assemblages' - Vintage-Inspired Summer Craft

Hi Friends,
 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm so excited to share a few vintage inspired, 'Assemblages' that I have crafted for my 'Patriotic Summer Décor.'

I had quite a few of the aluminum JELLO molds

I had leftover prints from "The Graphic Fairy.com" that I used in the Patriotic Collage Cards last month.

I added popsicle sticks on the back of the embellished prints
and floral foam block in the molds to secure the prints without using glue.
***
I've been a bit obsessed with vintage-inspired Patriotic crafts lately, but I think they're very fun to make.
***
Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what I'm crafting this week.
I would love to hear what you have found thrifting or crafting for your home décor.

I Found a Couple of Great Finds - Vintage Thrifting Friday

Hi Friends,

I'm so glad your here! Today, I'm so excited to share a few treasures I found this weekend at a couple of yard sales.
***
The first sale,
had a lot of Christmas light, ribbons, wrapping paper, and arranged florals and small trees, all modern Christmas décor, so I passed it up.

However, I did notice a under-bed Rubbermaid tote for $2.00

Thought the Rubbermaid tote is worth the $2.00, right?

I also got a bag of miscellaneous tissue paper.

and quite a few pre-made red bows for the $2.00's.

***
Also, at this sale I spied another vintage piece of Tupperware for my daughter,

for $2.00 a Sheet Cake Caddy

***

Then,
across the street was a sale and I picked up 9 Terra-Cotta planter saucers all for $1.00!

I'm using a few of the saucers with the Terra-Cotta planters on the front porch.

***
The last sale
I stopped at
on Friday, had many tools, duffle bags, tool caddies, electrical items, cement trowels, building materials, etc.
I brought home a few fun finds....

I thought this Klein Tool Caddy $1.00 will be great as a flower planter
***
also two tool bags on a belt for $3.00.  I'm going to use as a caddy for my garden tools and gloves
***
I couldn't leave this cute Kerosene Lantern for a $1.00
I'm not sure if I want to paint it red or not, what do think?
***
Receipt/Invoice Books and Carpenter Pencil for $1.00
I'll be using pages from the books in my the collage cards, I've been enjoying making for my holiday décor.
***
two small Cans of Stain $1.00, I picked hoping to weather protect the the garden chair, will see?
***
when I run across a heavy duty Duffle Bag at a reasonable price I try to purchase them, I use the bag to hold sleeping bags for camping, sometime I can get up to 3 sleeping bags in one duffle bag!
I paid $3.00 for this bag.
***
This weekend I did not find many vintage treasures, but that's how it goes sometimes.

There's always next weekend!

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what treasures I have found out thrifting this week.

Crafting Again - Rustic Cottage Country Patriotic Flags

Hi Friends,

 I'm so glad your here!

Today, I'm sharing another craft I have been working on for my Patriotic Vignettes.
***
I'm using the same fabric I used for the "Fabric Posies'
(fairly simple craft).
I cut 6" by 4" rectangles of the strip material and 2.5" by 3" rectangles of the star material
hand stitched the star material to the striped material and used tacky glue to attach the wooden skewers

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to stop by to see what I have been crafting this week.

I would love to hear if you have been crafting, thrifting or gardening lately.
