Vintage Haul - Had to Go Back for These 2 Treasures

 Hi Friends,

I stopped by my local antique/thrift store to see what was new.   This is what I came home with.

I have passed up these two items a few times because, I just couldn't figure out where to placed them

I've seen Nicole Northgarden on her You-Tube channel use the casserole dish caddy to style her cookbooks, I just saw Instagram a person on Instagram sit a basket in the middle of the caddy. So... I was thinking maybe a grouping of vintage jars would look nice? I paid $7.50 for the holder
Wm Rogers silver plate.

For now I have placed the vintage casserole caddy on the shelf in guest room holding vintage children books. What do you think?

This pewter mug has been on the shelf for several months and I just couldn't decide if it was vintage or not so finally, last week I search google.  What I found out was it's called a pewter horn mug made by Wilton Armtale in business for 118 years, So I purchased it for $5.00

I gather two other pewter mugs I have thrifted a couple of years ago for a little grouping, I think the mugs look great together.

I am so glad I went back and picked up these treasures they are a great addition to my décor! I think.
Mother's Day is tomorrow and I'm hoping to get out and putter in my back yard.  So please check back to see what I accomplished.

Until next time, thank you for stopping by

Vintage Spring/ Easter on the Mantel

Hi Friends,

I'm so excited to be showing how I displayed the mantel for Spring/Easter.

I've been trying to spend at least an hour and a half each evening after work, to pull out another holiday tubs to get my Easter collection put out to show you all.  The month of April is such a busy month for me as a intervention assistant, in a elementary school.
With all of that said, here is how I set up the fireplace mantel for April/Easter this year.

******
As you know I love collecting vintage cookie cutters,
I looked through my collection and found these three bunnies to display on the mantel.

*******

I've noticed on several social media sites, creators using vintage clip boards in their display and vignettes throughout the home. I have used a clip board a few time in the past with clip art and I just happen to pickup a legal size clip board last month, so I was excited to incorporate I my clip boards into this vignette on the mantel.

Let me know what you think.

The vintage clip boards and spring print are new this year, on the mantel. I found this sweet daffodil print from Pinterest

See the cute little chick egg and a little, I found at a thrift store in North Dakota quite a few years ago, there were two of them a chick or hen egg and a rooster egg. I  thought they were very unique, did have a "made in China" sticker on the bottom.

This little chick print came from Graphic Fairy

*******

Don't you just love the chocolate bunny? There was a Spring craft fair in town last weekend, when I saw this very adorable chocolate bunny, I thought it would be a great addition to my Easter décor, so I purchased two of them for $6.50

****
The light blue red eyed hen was a thrift find earlier these year, also there are a couple of diy's from last year. A bundle of diy carrots and a diy chalk board bunny also from last year.

The little six egg carton is a new diy this season.

I hope I have given you some inspiration to get out there and thrift shop and maybe even do a couple of simple do-it-yourself project to bring your celebration full circle.

Thank you for stopping by,

My God Bless You and Your Family, during these uneasy times.

Country Rustic Bunnies and Chicks

Hi Friends,

Easter is next weekend, so I'm changing up the spring décor a little, by placing a few bunnies and chicks and eggs baskets around the house.

The fabric bunnies I have had since my daughters were little. and just  put them out in my Easter décor every year.  A couple of years ago I changed up the floral bunny by soaking the bunny in coffee , Thought was to age the bunny a bit to look more rustic. I'm not sure if I pulled it off , but it's still cute.

When I'm out thrifting I always look through the children books. You just never know what you might find.  Children books are on my list of things to look for.

I hope to inspire you to get out and thrift, you never know what treasures you will find.

Thank you for stopping by,

Vintage Cozy Vignettes for March - Using Thrifted Treasures

Hi Friends,

Today I'm using some of my latest thrift finds I have pulled together some vintage vignette.

styling some of my vintage treasures.

This wonderful little copper wall lantern.  Also Ill be displaying wooden thread spools in the plastic thread spool holder
In the guest room I placed the vintage wooden swivel frame with the black and white picture on the vanity along with two other black and white photo I've saved from the past.
The bead came from a grab bag for $2.00 I think.  The brushes and mirror was a gift from a great aunt of mine. The fun perfume bottle I found on a trip to my mothers last summer.

Another place I like to place little vignettes, are on the red crackle shelves in the den. The vintage vase I have had along, the the cool green scrap I thrifted a couple of weeks ago. Of course you know I have my cigar box collection for many many years, I just love them.

the sister vase I just purchased I grouped with a pair of shoe forms I found at my local thrift store two separate visits.  The table scarf hanging on the rod I found last summer. I had packed it away until Spring!

Thank you so much for stopping by to see how I have styles a few vignettes around my house for March.

Vintage Finds for March on the Mantel

 Hi Friends,

It's March and time to change up the décor on the mantel. I have replaced the pinecone and little trees with a different color green.

A few of green ball jar, one I filled with vintage wooden spools.

The lime green vase was a thrift find last fall, I wasn't sure super happy with the colored bottom half.  Thought maybe I could wash off the red, orange, and purple at the bottom. I decided it is part of the glass vase, oh well still pretty cute artisan vase.

Some older brass candle sticks I have collected over the years center with the vintage window frame, over the fireplace.

A recent purchased framed fruit picture, I have past by this framed piece several times, not knowing how to incorporate it into my décor.

Who knew it would be a great pieces for March décor?

I also placed the little green creamer with a Japan stamp.

My last vintage thrift haul I found the little white hen thinking it match another little white hen I found this summer, however as you can see they are not a like.

I love the way the mantel looks, I hope I gave you some inspiration to pull out all your green and decorate for Spring!

Thank you for stopping by to see what is going on, here at My Little Colorado Cottage.

Thrifting for Vintage Treasure to Display in My March Décor

 Hi Friends,

It's that time for a thrift haul I went to "Community Budget"  thrift store, this week I found a few treasures.

This vase I picked up because I have exactly the same, so I thought I could just pair them up.

This bottle caught my eye, I was kind of surprised to find this bottle in the the antique room.  It reminds me of a red wine vinegar bottle.

For a dollar I picked up this small coke bottle

Because my shopping mission was to look for green items for my March décor I found a green ceramic creamer stamped Japan.

It looks like a harvest pattern

As I was pulling out my Winter Décor I found that I had three nut bowls and still missing tools.  So as you can see I picked up another set along with a wooden spoon.

When I found the aluminum custard or tart tins of courses I picked them up.  My grandmother used tart tins all the time for pudding and jello. for $ .10 each

This little bottle I just had to pick up, The picture doesn't give it justices but  it is a glass log cabin!  I
was thrilled

I know Christmas is behind us, but look at the cute singers for $.25 what a deal.

These ash trays were a find for me, I remember as a teenager seeing these type of advertising ash tray in tourist shop when traveling with family.

This grab bag of bead necklaces for $2.50

rolling ping half off because of the broken handles.  It didn't matter to me because I'm using it for décor

Aluminum shaker, can't see in this picture but there are measurement increments

pottery jug I didn't see any markings on the bottom it might be local artesian

spice jars I picked up six all but one had original stoppers
I saw someone use the spice bottle as bud vases

Lastly, another colander with a star pattern

I can't wait to get these items into my home décor.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I found this week.

Vintage Thermos - I Have Found a Couple More

Hi Friends,

During my Christmas break I shopped my local thrift store and found these lovelies.  Of course, I picked them up I collect Campbell soup mugs.  Last January I picked up two Campbell soups gift pack and now I have two wood crates with Campbell printed on them.

These cute Campbell soup thermoses are now part of my winter décor.

These two beauties I have pasted by several times last month, I decided I needed to go back and picked up the red and blue thermos, I think these will look great with my other thermos.

And this little green plaid beat up Thermos I also, went back to my local budget center to pick it up.
I had been watching it for many months and decide it was meant to be in my collection.

I hope I have inspired you to go a little out of the box and find items that say winter, cozy, comfy, to decorate your home for winter.

Thank you for checking in today,

Vintage Winter Décor Touches in my Living Room

Hi Friends,

I'm slowly put away Christmas décor and just adding a few pine cone and snowflakes around the house for my winter décor.

Here on a window shelf by my front door, I've hung a pine cone wreath I made a couple of years ago in the living room. A few bottle brush trees sitting in vintage jello molds and small clear canning jar.

This very adorable pinecone wreath was a diy from last winter ....

You may have remembered me using this brass bucket on my coffee table in the den, I thought a little bit of brass would look nice on this book shelf in the living room, I just added greenery and cinnamon sticks with a ribbon and of course pine cones.

On the salt/pepper shaker cabinet I place a couple of felt birds I got after Christmas sale.

I placed a thrifted pewter tray hoping to bring out the gray felt in the birds.

I hope I have given you a little inspiration to add small touch of winter in your house.

Adding a few snowflakes and glitter helps me get through the long days of winter.

Until my next post,

May God Bless You and Your Family.
